The other half is I’d put a good wager on some of the farrow stuff being put in as legacy models to look at for cid in this, and on the Arkadius front, how can you nerf him without changing a major portion of his kit. Nothing in it is blatantly too powerful in a vacuum. A chunk of his balance IS what beasts he can bring

They'd straight up need to change his Feat or nerf Road Hogs if they want to allow him to have Rush, unless they are suddenly ok with mass shooting into deployment zones. There's no other way around it. I don't know that anything else in Trolls would be broken (Gargantuans maybe? Unprecedented, but not sure about broken) but he cannot be allowed to have Rush.

New rule for our big pig: En Garde: While in this model's command range, friendly faction models gain Riposte.
"And obbvs he has some ways of raising errybody's DEF"

Huh...
Why is my first thought that Skarath is gonna love him? So much for a Thornfall Warlock.
Edit: To be fair, my second thought was Valkyries. Also have 2" melee, and they have Crit Knockdown on their hammers, and they're Def 13 base. Still no massive incentive for Thornfall specifically since they can run in WWFF, but at least there's a pig model he has clear synergy with.

It was also announced I think that he has Wind Rush. And I think Sure Foot may be the Def buff, though that could be reading into things.

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that en garde is supposed to say friendly faction warrior models. Riposte seems kinda silly on something like a heavy.

Much more likely to actually be good though...

Probably, though def 14 slaughterhousers with riposte could be funny.
Hey maybe now Agata might be viable.
Edit: by having a def buff I mean.

Slaughterhousers have the advantage of 2" reach and possibly not just rolling unboosted P+S 12s on their Ripostes... though I'm less confident that the enemy will every actually miss them Agata though... the problem with Agata isn't that she never gets to Riposte, it's just that she doesn't do anything in the first place.

Hungerford in facebook comments: "He has multiple ways to buff DEF/pseudo buff melee DEF. Depends on how you apply it. Options!"
So actual def buffs as well as something like ashen veil or a mat debuff? In any case it sounds like it's possible to get standard pigs up to def15-16 in melee. That sounds decent in combo with all our shield guards and vision-like abilities able to make one random infantry model refuse to ever die. Especially when that model is a valkyrie with a 1/9ish chance of knocking you down.
In any case from what we know now WWFF seems hard to pass up if for the archons alone, and skarath if any of Zello's abilities apply to heavies. Also for hermit as another layer of vision and because in all likelihood Zello won't be the faction's best arm cracker. Woe be it if you miss a primal archon, as the attacker gets hit with shadow bind before the mat11 riposte with beat back and AoE knockdown (though all that can be avoided by careful placement of reach models).
Wrong eye seems like he may be worthwhile here; getting the puddle of archons and valks under star crossed sounds fun. Generally not a fan of nyss but enough def buffs might make them worth a mention. Would also want to give Mire's swamp trolls another run, though might be a better plan to go with boneswarms+crocpots? The point being swarm becomes more relevant due to the stacking. Riposting Thrullgs could really catch a warjack out, stripping buffs and any focus could be nasty if unexpected but that's the sort of thing that'll only work once.

Another WWFF caster huh? SURPRISE!
Is Azazello going to hit the Dhunian CID? So hopefully we can point out the glaring issues in Thornfall design that every player except Hungerford knows?

Nah, Azazello is a Riot Quest release. Closest thing we'll have to a CID is if they preview his rules and they seem weak enough that we do a Helga2-style feedback campaign Dhunian theme is due towards the end of the year, so that'll be a while off. Like... September for the CID maybe? Azazello is slated for the first half of the year I believe.

We they might put one, max of two warlocks through the CID process. Pity he'll be another pointless caster for us.

I don't know if we have any Warlocks actually in need of a CID overhaul. The flaws for most of them are that they don't have the pieces that they want to support, which a new theme could easily correct. Carver is probably the only one I would like to see some changes to, since I really feel like he should be the premier infantry Warlock of the faction rather than a total battlegroup Warlock, but even that's more of a lore issue than a mechanics one (he is pretty boring to play though, and I do really want to put him on the table once his mini crate comes out).
