Hi guys! So you guys gave me some good advice on what to do with my new trolls, and I'm going to be playing with the results of that for awhile. But in the interest of badly overextending myself, I'm already looking to a second list, and I'd really like to do something with the unit of Highwaymen I've got, because I really love the models. There were some ideas floating around in the recent Gunnbjorn thread but I don't want to hijack that.
So unless I missed something, it basically has to be Kriel Company. And without buying new stuff, I'm limited to the following casters:
Borka2 Grissel1 Doomshaper2 Madrak1 Ragnor1
and I don't have any huge bases. Is there anything there I can work with for starters? (I don't want to infodump my whole collection on you, but I'm kind of short on units that work in Kriel Co. Sons of Bragg, my Highwaymen, and a couple of Weapons Crews. Decent collection of solos. Lots of beasts.) Or should I leave the Highwaymen on the shelf til I acquire a few new things to go with them?
Any advice appreciated.

Grissel's the only one that has any synergy with them, so there's that. What would the rest of your list look like? I think having something to work off makes suggestions easier.
You should also include some heavy melee elements, i.e. Mauler + tanks, in the few gunline games I played having no melee and no dedicated armor cracking always bit me in the arse.

Most of those don't work particularly well with Highwaymen. Grissel1 with Calamity and Hoof it might be alright with highwaymen as pretty much everything likes those abilities. It's possible to make a weird but playable kriel company list with Madrak1 but you need to bring a lot of def 13 bodies and leverage even ground and tough.
You might consider making a warlock purchase, Calandra or Kolgrima would be solid picks. Grim1, Grim2, Jarl, or even Horgle2 can all make viable KC lists as well.

Caster Mauler Bomber Maybe an Impaler or two, to go with the shootyness? Feel like I'm still trying to cram too many beasts in my TK lists, and risk getting in Fury trouble, but it's sort of what I've got. Surely the Impalers will be dead before I have to worry about them frenzying? Yay? Stones? I mean I know it's faction default, but I feel like I'm getting much less use out of them in this list... Max Highwaymen Sons of Bragg Dhunian Archon Braylen Fell Caller Hero Pummeler Crew Thumper Crew
With Grissel, min Stones, and two Impalers that would put me on 65 points, but it really feels like a list composed by throwing everything I own at the Kriel Co specs and seeing what stuck. Which it is, apart from more beasts. Doesn't feel like it has any real synergy, is what I mean.
New casters (or borrowing/proxying the caster to give someone a try) are always a good option for changing up a list, but the list still feels lacking no matter whos in charge. And its still 10 points short. If you weren't worrying about what I own, what would you ditch or add?

what models do you have to work with? it might be easier to make suggestions if we know what you're working with. e.g. 2 impalers are probably worse than a single bomber but if you don't have that as an option it might make sense.

Highwaymen suffer from a lack of threat range. I do not think they are decent if you can not help fix that.
Gunnbjor , jarl, grissel2 and grim2 are prime candidates.
As you do not have any or those, i guess grissel 1 with calamity and hoof it is as good as you are going to get. You can stay sort of safe with them with hoof it, but threat range is really poor for a shooting unit.

Well, that list is essentially every model I have that's allowed in Kriel Co except for:
I can go full Stones Trollkin Runebearer 1xDire Troll Blitzer a second Mauler 1xNight Troll 1xTroll Axer 1xTroll Bouncer (Mulg and Rok, if I bring a bonded caster.)
...which is why I was saying not to worry too much about what I own. I play in a fairly proxy-friendly group, and there's another TK player I might be able to borrow pieces off of. I could fake a second Bomber (for example) if that would be the go. So its more a question of: are there one or two pieces - any pieces - I could acquire to turn this into a half-decent list? Or is the core crap, and I need to change a whole bunch of stuff to even consider it? I'm starting to feel like the answer is the latter, and I'm fine with that. But even then I guess I'm curious; if you wanted to build a list around Highwaymen, and they were literally the only TK models you owned, what's the next model(s) you buy?

Well, one caster I know of that works well with Highwaymen, and especially with braylen, is Calandra. She isn't on your list but the ability to befuddle your opponents and indirectly boost the DEF of your highwaymen will provide a lot of synergy. They can hit harder thanks to befuddle providing openings for backstrikes, and will benefit a lot from Star-crossed making them much harder to hit.
