Speaking of archons, how did Stryker die?

Finally, some Legion lore. I think we're better off. So confusing... Saeryn goes to the portal, something happens to her, and only her Athanc shard and some viscera remain... She is drawn to the portal and states that Thag will be drawn to it as well, and for the same reason, but we do not know why... Rhyas may be free from her sister now, or this could be the first time in known fluff that she uses the Twins feat and brings her sister back... Or Saeryn may return as one of the Archons, seeing as that already happened to Stryker... What is the Legions reason to get involved here? Some of its warlocks are drawn to the portal, so Everblight needs to reconsolidate himself to mitigate any losses? IMHO, this does not look promising to Legion at all. We will see. Saeryn always saw Everblight as a means to an end. Part of that end seems to be escaping the Infernals. The portal is set up in such a way that it won't take athanc shards with it, probably on purpose. As for Thagrosh, he is genuinely afraid of what will happen to him on Everblight's current trajectory. He is an imperfect vessel for the athanc and Kallus was meant to take that place, but I believe something happened to Kallus when he became Kallus2 that made him not suitable anymore.

Speaking of archons, how did Stryker die? In the execrable last Acts of War book. He sacrificed himself, like the angelic glory hound he is, to blow up the Khadoran skyship that was on a crash course toward Caspia. That book really could have been better... I will leave it at that.

In addition to thelat’s excellent answer, I’d like to add this: We never saw what happened to Kallus during Wrath of the Dragon Father or what caused his transformation to Kallus2. That arc was a casualty of the “end of physical publishing / No Quarter / Skull Island” at PP. Also, the fact that the stargate was intentionally programmed to prevent athanc shards from being transported is further proof of the “Cyriss as intergalactic lawman chasing the alien space dragon criminal Toruk” theory from the ooooooooooold Privateer forums! At last, vindication! ...for whoever it was that theorized that. But it was a good theory.

Kallus got swallowed by the dragon Umbargoven. While in his belly, Kallus absorbed some of his flesh and adapted to it, gaining the form we see in Kallus2 mini. He escaped through a wound the Dragonfather inflicted on Umbargoven. All in Kallus2 fluff entry.
If you meant we never had that story specifically, then yes, we never had it.
On the Cyriss hunting Toruk… it is an interesting idea, but needs more development - how did Cyriss react with Toruk broken into athanc shards? How did it react with Toruk slowly pulling himself together? Shouldn't she intervene and help Everblight, etc.

Shouldn't she intervene and help Everblight, etc. Everblight is part of Toruk, so if she would really be looking to deal with the Dragonfather, she would eventually have to deal with Everblight as well. Everblight is extremely cunning and untrusting, so she would have to get very creative to convince him that she is on his side, all while intending to double cross him eventually.

Where’s the info on blight archons, etc? Do I have to go through a riot quest podcast or something? Mentioned in the dynamic update prompt. All we know is that they're called Virtues and are coming this summer, assuming the communist chinese Wuhan coronavirus doesn't delay PP's schedule.

i can imagine that keeper: cannot be damaged by regular weapon. maybe only by archons or divinity weapons. to keep it on the table - master need to spent all his essence. so no upkeep or casts. if any model ends activation near it - it is removed from play. ally or enemy.

No, Virtues are a new sub-race Everblight produced, and Blight Archons will be something else (no other details AFAIK). Announced for fall, so months away at this point. Bethayne2 is also announced, but nothing else. Legion community prays for more as three new entries do not an update make.

I heard it from Hungerford, whom I try not to bug too often, that the plague is affecting the CID schedule. For the best.

I'm pretty sure that while the pandemic is ongoing, it's too soon.
