I've run her a lot of time in armored corps, always with a shooty army and it works pretty well, it's just very rough on the clock because it's not a list that will win games fast unless your opponent gives you a scourge casterkill opportunity. I haven't run it since the change to the theme forces (so it's been a while... late summer, I guess) but the list would get more advance move now, on all the solos, so that's a thing. Not super happy about losing Ayana&holt with Valachev in the list though. One idea that started as crazy theory but ended up working pretty well on the table is to run her in a list without shocktroopers. I know it sounds crazy, but considering OW's kit, they don't really serve a purpose in the list, unless you want to double down on kovnik (which I don't think is a good idea, too much support is not desirable in a list with a low volume of attack like armored corps) you'll want to desperate pace the bombardiers at least in the first turn if you want them to be in a releveant position to use their mini feat at some point in the game (that mini feat is very hard to use properly and most of the time I only use it for two or three guys in the unit) and that +2 inches is pretty critical to your positionning early in the game. That leaves you with shocktroopers laging behind the rest of the army, so not really serving a purpose like protecting other models. I found that a drakhun could protect the bombardier better than shocktroopers. The list can also split for scenario at least ok-ish, more so than a lot of our other lists. For your list I'd replace the shocktrooper unit with Atanas&bannerguy and a drakhun and call it a day.
So i got some games in with my 1st list, unfortunately i dont own a thamarite archon yet so i wasnt able to test list number 2. Won 2/3 games playing OW2 each time. Lost vs iona + tharn.
Once again i learned the lesson that small mistakes against tharn are quite devastating. I let a Loki live on 4 boxes because i forgot void archons have melee attacks... I am going to try and get some battle reports written up.i tries to take pictures but only remembered it once D:
Sand20go, the more i play OW2 the more i realize she can play almost anything well. Just saying no to shooting is a huge deal. I think the list you posted looks strong, but you need to know what you plan on dropping into. Definitely will struggle into an armor skew. Low amount of attacks and everything but the juggernaut is pow 14. Curse of shadows is great, but it is limited to one model/unit. Top of my head, immortals and tharn could be interesting matchups.
Fitting in Atanas would be a pretty big improvement. Tharn wont like retaliatory strikes on arm 21 models, and the guns can put the fear of god into most of that army.
Vs immortals OW2 shuts down all of the guns, and again retaliatory ST put a hamper on most infantry.
Here is my take on OW2 AK. I did leave out 5 points on purpose. The thamarite archon is great, but i find AK reaalllly suffers to rough terrain in any form, so i consistently bring saxon. If you dont like him, swap for thamarite. If you do, kayazy/strike tanker are great fills. The siege chariot and strike tanker would love OW2 blind shot.
There is a team tournament coming up at my FLGS. I haven't found a list that i don't feel comfortable dropping OW2 into. From the experience of everyone here has anyone found a matchup that is pretty bad for OW2 WoW?
