Played this last night into slayer spam (perhaps a very favorable match up?) and loved it. Plays a great scenario game - get Butcher 3 into zone bullying position and then use clams and Mauraders to simply slam stuff out if he is not providing adequate scenario presence. If he is - well that means probably it is butcher time and you go kill a bunch of stuff. BEFORE YOU ASK the Demolisher is there because I don't own four Devestators. (sad face). I MAY swap out down the road for a Jugger and Widget at some point...ditto possible changes to the Kossites. But need to continue to experiment know be sure. Next up (I hope) is seeing if it can play into Juris's Syvestro list for CG. I THINK it can - because while he might get 1-2 clams I don't think he can get all four and I THINK that Butcher can simply absorb the alpha and then come back in with a nice butcher focused counter. What made this list actually work is the Pathfinder benefit in (new) Jaws. conflictchamber.com/?c3201b_-1mdI8F7q7q7qkTkTlOkZchch8cKhador [Theme] Jaws of the Wolf [Butcher 3] Kommander Zoktavir, the Butcher Unleashed [+22] - Demolisher [16] - Devastator [14] - Devastator [14] - Devastator [14] - Marauder [11] - Marauder [11] Kovnik Apprentice Kratikoff [0(4)] - Rager [10] Kayazy Eliminators [0(5)] Kayazy Eliminators [0(5)] Kossite Woodsmen (min) [6]

How were the Kossites?
Just wondering about either of the following:
(1) Change Kossites to Hutchuk - if you want an ambushing model he's decent;
or
(2) Drop Demolisher to Devastator and change Kossites to Widowmakers. Gives you some pretty accurate spot removal.

1) Would LOVE to drop the Demolisher but I don't own 4. Probably should have magatized my demolisher way back when. C'est la vi. That said, some matchups that I am thinking I might get would benefit from it. 2) I KNOW kossites suck....until they don't. Into certain low def support models (Choir, DBRs, Ret. solos) I think they have a solid role. Moreover, there is always the "Run the leader in and contest, leave the others back" strategy. Remember, this list is ALL about scenario (indeed, it might ONLY be about scenario ;-) That is the strength of the four clams - almost never opening up and just slamming and bulldozing for days while Butcher, god bless him, is bullying a zone and stopping your opponents from doing much of ANYTHING. Hopefully get a game in against Juris, my white whale, my green light on the end of the dock, my rosebud to see how it works into that list.

Some some results.....
Game 1
Played in Zaat and interfernals. Some mistakes were made on some of the rules on those models. Did decently. Toward the end I likely overcommitted Butcher as oppposed to simply going over and collapsing a flank. I was worried I didn't have enough models left on the OTHER flank to last things out - but my opponent was low on time so it was likely a rust issue with Butcher. Early in game I had an assassination run on Z who had no trasfers. Would have needed to hit her under feat and not get screwed by Orin2's rerolls. I chose to forgo that run to get more practice
Game2 - Kaelyssa
Had an assassination run on turn 2. Would have needed to chew through a Trident, impending doom K to me and then hit her over a wall. She was camping 5. Buy or Boost say 68% or so (I assumed I needed at least 5 to get through Trident). I decided not to go for it. Butcher 3 a bit too far up and got pummeled by shooting. Next turn got backlashed. (THis game was a brain fart - I forgot she had a spell on her card that allows for LOS ignoring. Should have just gone for it. I BELIEVE Killing Butcher when HE would have been at the wall would not have been trivially easy even on no camp.
Game 3 - Baldur 1
Grinding game. COuld have made it easier if I hadn't gotten gun shy with Butcher. Should have simply moved forward in line of Clams right at him. Eventually won on clock cause ARM 23 is a thing
I think for a minor tweak I am going to lose the Kossites (they just didn't do what I wanted them to do any better than the eliminators could have done running up the side and the eliminators would have been more of a threat). I will then swap in Yuri (who is going to make more use of the forest than Butcher 3 can cause...really...butcher without Saxon doesn't WANT to be in or behind a forest ) and Widget who feels VERY good in this match up with SP 7, flying, high innate defense, repo, etc. _MAYBE_ instead of Yuri I will look at the Doge......cause def 16 butcher is better than Def 14 butcher and I MISS the WarDoge.
But generally it ask a good question - can you chew through ARM 23 clams without committing a bunch of stuff that butcher is subsequently going to impending doom and flashing blade off the table.
