The mist speaker has been clutch in far too many of my games to leave him out. Fun thing you could do now though is drop him and a blackclad. Use the free points for 3x war wolves and the 4pts for a reeve hunter.
That combo can accomplish some funny things.

Two more games with my “abomination” list with a wilder over mist speaker. Swapping to just 4 scarfells had no apparent impact, further emphasizing how weak Una’s feat and quasi-field marshal abilities are. Game 1 vs Connie in Flame in the Dark. I was dicing myself, and Chuck was dicing me too, so it was a hard loss. But had things averaged out I could have taken his archon and 3 heavies on a feat turn. So overall list felt good. Game 2 vs a returning MKII player with Butch1. Rolled him, then we discovered he played down a unit of uhlans, so.... I do like this last iteration best. Sad Una has no real use for birds. But I DID get use from my wilder with upkeeps and using herding to manage scenarios.

What do you mean in a has no real use for birds? They do a lot of damage for how cheap and fats they are.

I still feel like I'd rather take Kaya3 and All the Griffons than the same list with Una. But I've never actually fielded either - and I've no real plans to shell out for that many griffons - so what do I know.

Bird two goes in and finishes the target and the sprints to engage the next guy. Bird 3 now has flank set up and ready and so on. Una 2 with all the griffons has proven to be good in tournaments lots of times. Saying it doesnt work all of a sudden is not really credible. I totally agree that having better HoF targets than a light griffon is great. Tharn units are probably the best option here. Probably better than the storm raptor in many cases, but not always. My guess is that she does better in DH with 2 units of tharn than in wild hunt.

I think there are a lot of casters about whom you could say "does better in DH with a couple units of Tharn..." That doesn't necessarily make the alternative bad.

Also, shes just not fast enough to do that and have alphas matter. Because shed just die. It takes two birds. They then usually die. I mean, I dont know what to tell you if you think my actual games arent credible.

Synergy makes individual birds MUCH more effective on their own. Plus Kaya is just more mobile. I did a stint with Kaya3 recently, and found her better and easier to play than Una2 currently is.

Well and Soothing Song is just insanely good for this sort of list.

Well and Soothing Song is just insanely good for this sort of list. Unless of course you want to activate kaya before the beasts on the key turn where you want to feat and force all of them... 😭

Oh so true. This is part of why I kind of like the idea of Razorwings with Kaya3; they don't need her feat to ignore free strikes (and the DEF bonus still works if you activate her last.) The trick of course being keeping everything in control. I think you'd definitely want to keep Kaya in a stone triangle until she'd feated, so you could port her forward, activate all the griffs, then feat, Soothing Song, and repo back. And even then it'd be tricky to keep her safe and the griffs in control. Wonder if a Well would be worth it?
