So I picked up the Morrowan Archon at GenCon. Even if I never play her, I’m going to enjoy painting her and it’s a beautiful model (true of both the Menite and Morrowan).
Here are the basic stats:
Stats
MAT 8 with Devine Inspiration, DEF 14, ARM 18/20 with Shield. SPD 6 with Flight.
12 Boxes
Abilities
Blinding Radiance - While within 5" of this model, enemy models with LOS to this model suffer -2 to attack rolls.
Divine Inspiration - This model gains an extra die on melee attack & damage rolls, but discards the lowest die.
Divine Manifestation - This model is not a living model, cannot become knocked down, and never suffers Blind.
Flight - This model ignores (almost) all terrain when moving. This model can move over other models, and ignores intervening models when declaring charges.
Shield Guard - Once per round, when a friendly model is directly hit by a non-spray ranged attack during your opponent's turn while within 3" of this model, you can choose to have this model directly hit instead. This model is automatically hit and suffers all damage and effects. This model cannot use Shield Guard while it is incorporeal, knocked down, or stationary.
Soul Ward - Enemy models cannot gain soul tokens from friendly models destroyed within this model's command range.
Veteran Leader [Morrowan] - While in this model's command range, other friendly Morrowan models gain +1 to attack rolls.
Holy Spear - 2" reach, POW 7, P+S 15 melee attack
Blessed - Attacks with this weapon ignore spells & animi that add to the target's DEF or ARM.
Damage Type: Magical - This weapon deals Magical damage. Incorporeal models can be damaged by attacks from sources with this damage type.
Critical Blind - On a critical hit, the model hit suffers Blind for one round. A model suffering Blind cannot make ranged or magic attacks, suffers -4 MAT and DEF, and cannot run, charge, or make slam or trample power attacks. It must forfeit either its Normal Movement or Combat Action during its next activation. Blind can be shaken.
Shield - 0.5" reach, POW 4, P+S 12 melee attack

Shield - This weapon is a shield that gives the model a cumulative +2 ARM bonus. A model does not gain this bonus while the weapon system with the shield is crippled or when resolving damage that originates in its back arc.
So at 8 points, it’s a decent beatstick but nothing to write home about outside of a Flames theme where she’s an autoinclude.
But, with Blinding Radiance and Shield Guard, does Butcher 3 (or I suppose 2, if that’s your jam) just love her? And does he love all 8 points of her? She seems better than a Wardog + a Bokur, but we weren’t really taking those. This new shiny package, however, seems pretty decent. Adding in Flight with 2 attacks as a follow up for whatever Butcher sticks with Impending Doom seems pretty decent. Soul denial is situationally brilliant.
