speaking of which, even if this is slightly off topic, do you guys know any mini skirmish games set in our mundane modern reality? something about seeing the subway fight scene in the trailer rubbed me just the right way. Knight Model's Batman and DCU games fit - that's assuming the presence of superpowers isn't an issue as long as the setting is basically modern? Even then just the Batman game doesn't have too many super-powered characters so that might work for you.
Other than that nothing comes to mind. I'm curious myself now.
I specifically said mundane to emphasize the non-magical aspect. I'm guessing it's mostly limited to military shooter style games. I'm not even sure how you'd fluff something like this otherwise, probably either gang warfare (mordheim!) or police vs terrorists or goverment vs militias or something of that kind. I'm not a huge fan of superheroes, especially marvel. My interest is basically limited to Batman and whichever story is willing to dive deeper into the genre rather than just being a big spectacle. The manga Ratman comes to mind, it's a dumpster fire, but the premise is at least interesting. I'd love a world of darkness themed skirmisher, too, but I'd have to homebrew that myself.

I think DakkaDakka is a good place to ask that kind of question then, as it has a very broad userbase, I've seen a great many games recommended there that I'd never heard of before.
One option I guess is to take a model-agnostic rule set and skin/tweak it slightly.

Very nice paint jobs on the minis in that video (and the terrain is nice too), but for some reason I'm feeling a little bit pessimistic about the actual retail models being of particularly high quality. Well, it would be nice if they do. I mean, I spent way too much money picking up all the Knight Models Marvel heroes after that line got discontinued, but there's plenty of gaps in the lineup that I'd love to see filled, so overall this looks promising to me (plus it could give me a live game to use said Knight Models in). What I find a bit strange is that it's my impression that when creative types leave larger organizations it's usually because they feel restricted or stifled; they want to work somewhere smaller and less restrictive where they can be more creative. Working on a licensed property like Marvel's superheroes does not sound "less restrictive"? Of course it's a fresh product so they can design the rules from scratch (to an extent), while it's kind of hard to make big changes to WMH, so maybe it is actually less restrictive. So Atomic Mass Games don't seem to have a website? That... doesn't sound like a very big company. I wonder how they landed a Marvel property? According to Pagani a website will be up later. The company is owned by asmodee, which also owns Fantasy Flight. Fantasy flight is releasing a new marvel cardgame. So the licence for marvel games are probably in the Asmodee group.

Yup, and will probably directly compete with PP's warcaster game next year. Let the DOOM begin As you can see, some posters on this forum are completely tone deaf.

What about MERCS? I've seen it around. I don't know much about it, but I know that it is very small scale and it seemed to be sufficiently modern, but not too modern. More modern that us, somewhat, but maybe as far as Infinity.

Mutants and Deathray guns can easily be changed to allow it if you only allow human characters and restrict all of the scifi weapons. Edit: I forgot that company also has Flying Lead, which is a modern military board game that also could be used for it.

I have exactly zero interest in more capeshit. Never been a fan of comics, not planning on starting now. Hope the fellas are onto brighter things, though. Good on them for jumping from the sinking ship, right?

It's funny that iv seen more excitement and positivity about this game in the last 24 hours than iv seen across the interwebs for the whole of the Oblivion release/update/revamp since its release.

Keep in mind you're comparing a brand new game for an established IP to an update to a game that's been around for more than a decade. And, sad as it is, Marvel's Cinematic Universe(tm) has slightly more fans than the IK. Apples to oranges.

Who knows why they left - sounds like they’re working for a company almost the size of hasbro - perhaps they saw talent and bought it.
If there was a knockoff war machine with these things... it be interesting if each hero functioned like a war caster with no jacks...

The MCU practically prints money at this point, there are people invested in this shit like it's their only child. Hard to imagine PP's pay compares to what they get there. doggamn - anywhere the rules can be found online?

It kind of makes you wonder if they will do multiple kits of the same character, and if those multiples have different abilities. There's been how many Spider-men now, to say nothing of all the Iron Man armors and multi-verse options? If there was a knockoff war machine with these things... it be interesting if each hero functioned like a war caster with no jacks... When you said that, I thought, "There's an actual "War Machine" that they'll be probably be building..."

doggamn - anywhere the rules can be found online? Yep, the core rules and the cards for the various factions are all here (scroll almost to the bottom): steamforged.com/resources/It has a very obvious WMH influence in the basic design.
