This just went live on War Room 2 and the site: August 2019 Dynamic Update
Changes in Italics.
Ashlynn d’Elyse
* Add Morrowan to sub-header.
NOTES: Our “Flames in the Darkness” theme force needed some protagonists, so our lore gurus reached into their bag and found a selection of warcasters who are either publicly or privately Morrowan but didn’t have the actual tag represented in-game.
Constance Blaize
* Warjack points 29.
* Cut Animosity [Thamarite or undead models].
* Change Divine Intervention to:Feat: Divine Intervention
While in Blaize’s control range, friendly living Faction warrior models gain +1 ARM for each soul token on Blaize. Additionally, while in Blaize’s control range, Morrowan models gain Divine Inspiration. Divine Intervention lasts for one round. (A model with Divine Inspiration gains an additional die on melee attack and melee damage rolls. Discard the lowest die of each roll.)
* Change the text of Blessing of Morrow to:
Blessing of Morrow - While in the spellcaster’s control range during their activations, friendly non-warcaster Morrowan warrior models can spend focus points on this model to boost one melee attack or melee damage roll for each focus point spent.
* Gain Soul Taker: Reclaim:
Soul Taker: Reclaim - This model can gain soul tokens. When a friendly living Faction model is destroyed by a continuous effect, an enemy attack, or collateral damage from an enemy attack while in this model’s control range, this model gains the destroyed model’s soul token. After this model replenishes its focus during your next Control Phase, replace each soul token with 1 focus point.
* Gain Fortune:
COST RNG AOE POW DUR OFF
Fortune 2 6 - - UP No
Target friendly Faction model/unit can reroll its missed attack rolls. Each attack roll can be rerolled only once as a result of Fortune.
* Cut Radiance of Morrow.
NOTES: Constance Blaize has been the recipient of a major overhaul. Here is the gist of the significant changes:
She now passively collects souls all the time instead of only during her feat.
Her feat now provides Divine Inspiration for Morrowans.
Radiance of Morrow was removed and replaced by Blessing of Morrow, a passive ability that does basically the same thing but only affects warrior models (sorry, Gallant!).
She picked up Fortune as a new spell.
There are a couple of other little tweaks, so make sure you read them all. In general, these changes should help Constance feel a lot smoother to play. She suffered from some intrinsic Focus issues and often ended up seeming like a battery for the rest of her army. Now she should be a little more active on the table while still feeling like Constance, aka a holy warrior who empowers the army around her.
Lieutenant Crosse, Resistance Fighter
* Add Thamarite to sub-header.
Lieutenant Crosse is in a slightly different situation than the rest of the warcasters who picked up either Thamarite or Morrowan tags. Unlike, say, Jakes, both versions of whom picked up Morrowan, only the second iteration of Crosse is becoming Thamarite. This is for character reasons, as he becomes a Thamarite later in his career due to storyline influences.
Gallant
* Cut Animosity [Thamarite or undead models].
* Change the text of Bond [Blaize] to:
Bond [Blaize] - If this model begins the game in Blaize’s battlegroup, it is bonded to her. This model is not considered to be bonded while under your opponent's control. While this model is bonded to Blaize and B2B with her, she cannot be targeted by enemy spells.
* Gain Shield Guard.
Shield Guard - Once per round, when a friendly model is directly hit by a non-spray ranged attack during your opponent’s turn while within 3˝ of this model, you can choose to have this model directly hit instead. This model is automatically hit and suffers all damage and effects. This model cannot use Shield Guard while it is incorporeal, knocked down, or stationary.
NOTES: Gallant got a bit of an update, too. Shield Guard was moved from his Bond to become something he just always has, and then his Bond itself was changed. The Bond was changed to reflect more Morrowan elements, providing Blaize with some spell protection. Shield Guard should make him more accessible to non-Blaize-led armies, and the Bond should help Constance play a bit more aggressively when they’re paired together.
Ghordson Avalancher
* Cost 15.
NOTES: A couple of points shaved off the Avalancher. This guy had just too many point in its cost for what it offered. Now it should feel a bit better putting it into lists.
Ghordson Earthbreaker
* Cost 35.
* Change SPD to 5.
* Replace the text of From Beneath with the following:
From Beneath - Attacks with this weapon ignore cover and concealment.
NOTES: More changes for more colossals. Go read the note on the Hurricane for further insight. The Earthbreaker was feeling a bit heavy at its previous point cost, so we gave it a reduction and a boost to its speed so it isn’t falling as far behind. Lastly, its torpedoes had a reference to elevation removed.
Croe’s Cutthroats
* Add Prey to the unit:
Prey - After deployment but before the first player’s turn, choose an enemy model/unit to be this model/unit’s prey. This model gains +2 to attack and damage rolls against its prey. When the prey is destroyed or removed from play, choose another model/unit to be the prey.
NOTES: Croe’s Cutthroats were recently ousted as secret infernalists, but that is not all they have going for them! In addition to that little change, we’ve also added Prey to the unit to give it a bit more oomph in the danger department.
Dannon Blythe & Bull
* Add Partisan [Trollbloods]:
Partisan [Trollbloods] - When included in a Trollbloods army, this unit is a Trollbloods unit instead of a Mercenary unit.
NOTES: Blythe & Bull are now Trollbloods Partisans. This should allow them to have some interesting interactions in Trollblood armies.
Devil Shadow Mutineers
* Add Thamarite to sub-header.
NOTES: Due to the “Flames in the Darkness” theme, we’ve been steadily adding Morrowan and Thamarite tags to a variety of models that had those respective religious leanings.
Greygore Boomhowler & Co.
* Add Partisan [Trollbloods]:
Partisan [Trollbloods] - When included in a Trollbloods army, this unit is a Trollbloods unit instead of a Mercenary unit.
NOTES: Greygore and friends are now Partisan, so they can benefit from all those sweet Faction buffs in Trollbloods.
Hammerfall High Shield Gun Corps
* Cost 9/15.
NOTES: A small point drop to the High Shields to make them a bit more accessible in lists.
Hammerfall High Shield Gun Officer & Standard
* Cost 4.
NOTES: Like their parent unit, the Officer & Standard dropped a point, making the overall unit now two points cheaper and giving you a bit more flexibility in list building.
Ogrun Assault Corps
* Cost 8/13.
NOTES: A big point drop for the Assault Corps! They were heavily over-costed, and we saw parallels between them and a couple of other medium-based infantry with similar loadouts and roles, so we adjusted their points to something comparable.
Precursor Knights
* Cost to 8/14.
* Cut Animosity [Thamarite or undead models].
* Change Spell Ward to Sacred Ward:
Sacred Ward - This model cannot be targeted by enemy spells.
* Melee RNG 1˝.
NOTES: We did a moderate revamp of Precursor Knights. First, a point reduction makes them a bit more competitively costed, and Spell Ward became Sacred Ward, which is a lot less restrictive. Finally, their stubby maces just weren’t getting the job done, so we gave them a slight range boost to make it a bit easier for them to engage their foes.
Precursor Knight Officer & Standard
* Change Spell Ward to Sacred Ward:
Sacred Ward - This model cannot be targeted by enemy spells.
* Melee RNG 1˝.
NOTES: See the note on Precursor Knights above.
Tactical Arcanist Corps
* Cost 5.
NOTES: We also shaved a couple of points off the Tactical Arcanist Corps. The overall changes to Rhulic models should give players several more points to play with in their Rhulic armies.
Alexia, Mistress of the Witchfire
* Cut Animosity [Morrowan models].
NOTES: If you’ve been reading the whole document, you may have noticed we’ve been generally pulling Animosity off almost all models that had it (not all, just most). With the infernals invading, people have realized they may need to work together to stop them.
Cephalyx Agitator
* Add Mercenary:
Mercenary - This model will work for Cryx.
* Cut Limited Employment.
* Add Selective:
Selective - This model can be included in a Mercenary army only if the army is made using a Cephalyx theme force.
NOTES: This is mostly some text clean-up and standardization.
Harlan Versh
* Cut Animosity [Thamarite or undead models].
NOTES: See the note on Alexia, Mistress of the Witchfire above.
Ragman
* Cut Animosity [Morrowan models].
NOTES: See the note on Alexia, Mistress of the Witchfire above.
Savio Montero Acosta
* Gain Partisan [Cygnar]:
Partisan [Cygnar] - When included in a Cygnar army, this model is a Cygnar model instead of a Mercenary model.
NOTES: This makes Acosta a bit more accessible in Cygnar armies, allowing him to play with Faction buffs and other fun stuff.
And for Rorsch:
MINION
Farrow didn’t have a CID or the prospect of one in the near future, so we took this opportunity to do a general overhaul to several of the models in the sub-Faction. While this isn’t a massive overhaul of the Faction, the combination of some point drops, slight rules changes, and an overhauled Farrow theme force should make them feel a lot better for Farrow enthusiasts to put their piggies on the table. We’ll be keeping a close eye on Farrow in the weeks and months following the release of Oblivion to address anything that may have fallen short in this update. Enjoy!

Battle Boar
* Change the text of Adrenalize to:
This model can use Adrenalize at any time during its activation. This model gains Berserk and Overtake that activation. At the end of that activation, this model suffers d3 damage points. (When a model with Berserk destroys one or more models with a melee attack during its Combat Action, immediately after the attack is resolved it must make one additional melee attack against another model in its melee range.) (When a model with Overtake destroys one or more enemy models with a basic melee attack during its Combat Action, after the attack is resolved it can immediately advance up to 1˝.)
NOTES: Adrenalize no longer requires forcing. Now the effect has the damage element as its only cost. We felt the fury cost associated with their “dials” were really holding the Farrow warbeasts back, so we axed them across the board. The Farrow warbeasts should now feel a bit more comfortable when compared to their Blindwater brethren.
Gun Boar
* Cost 8.
NOTES: Just a simple point drop on the Gun Boar. This guy was a bit pricey, so we knocked it down to give Farrow players access to a cheap, useful gun platform.
Ironback Spitter
* Change the text of Carapace to the following:
Carapace - This model gains +4 ARM against ranged attack damage rolls.
NOTES: We are also changing Carapace across the board. Previously, it provided an ARM boost against both ranged attacks and free strikes. That was proving to be a bit too skewing, so we pulled the free strike element from it to retain focus specifically on the core theme of Carapace, which is providing protection against shooting.
Road Hog
* Cost 15.
* Change the text of Full Boar to:
This model can use Full Boar at the start of its activation. This model gains +2 SPD that activation. At the end of that activation, this model suffers d3 damage points. Full Boar can be used only once per activation.
NOTES: For Full Boar, see the note on the Battle Boar above. Additionally, we knocked a point of off the Road Hog. This point drop, combined with the one below on the War Hog, should give Farrow players access to some cheap, effective heavy warbeasts.
War Hog
* Cost 14.
* Change the text of Aggression Dial to:
This model can use Aggression Dial at any time during its activation. This model gains +2 STR that activation. At the end of that activation, this model suffers d3 damage points. Aggression Dial can be used only once per activation.
NOTES: Read the notes on the Battle Boar and Road Hog above. The gist is that we’ve removed the forcing cost on dials, and we’ve cut the War Hogs points down by one to make this big boy fit into lists a bit easier.
