A disillusioned mk2 player just sold me a fully painted bradigus theme force for very cheap. It looks like a straight forward list in mk3, but seeing mixed reviews on effectiveness.
Hoping to start a conversation about strengths/weaknesses and where it fits in a pairing. Also tactics. Specifically, why aren't ppl now jumping at the chance to play it if it was so popular in mk2?
My first build had 2 wardens, 1 gaurdian, and 4 watchers. Free wilder and 2 free wayfarers. 2 sentry stone. And 2 shifting for fury management. Now thinking sub second gaurdian for one of the wardens. That changes it from wanted to spam battering rams to play for scenario, to a more brute force and stay alive tactic. 2" extra deploy, advance deploy arm 21 watchers, and feat make jamming ur opponent out of scenario seem possible.
Trying to break this out of bones of orboros doscussion into own thread.

There are a few reasons people aren't jumping to play it
- Watchers lost shield guard. This was a big part of the list as the volume of watchers let you distribute ranged damage as required and kept brad safe. - Guardians lost flesh of clay. Another big part of protecting against ranged fire that kept brad safe was the ability to take 1d6 less damage from ranged attacks that did make it through - Synergy is now capped at 3. Non-capped synergy (like +4 to 6) on watchers or Bradigus himself let them punch way above their weight class. Capped at +3 its just not enough to make the light wolds do work. As such the all watcher build (8+ watchers) got flushed pretty hard and now you're dependent on keeping your heavies alive to make sure you can do work on opponent's heavies. - Mystic wards used to affect the entire battle group and now its just a pale imitation of what it used to be able to do. - Shifting stones used to be able to send guardians or Brad himself 10" instead of 8". This isn't one of the main reasons but the loss of threat range still hurts - Watchers can no longer auto hit with a power attack push to get synergy going. - Having 3 units of shifting stones on the table was required to manage fury. Not much has changed here and going down to just two units is rough (but hey shapers!)
Add all of that up and add in the fact that jacks are so much more effective now and Brad just doesn't stack up against the competition. The one bright spot for him is the addition of wold shapers as those guys are bad assess for keeping the wolds in the fight throughout the game and they bring some badly needed anti infantry game to the list.

Nice thanks for the write up. Holy F I didn't realize so much had changed. Gonna try it out for some games to see how it fairs.
Maybe then this could a space for those trying to it out to talk about what is working then in the new edition.
- 2 free blackclads can help w speed 4 guardians hitting at pow 20 and a free charge. -It seems fast enough that once they focus fire down 1 or 2 watchers at a 21 you are in their face w heavies. - 26 boxes, theme, and maybe 2d3 from shifting stones x2 can hopefully put up a good enough fight.
What matchups do we think this can go into?

Anything without enough hitting power to chew through the armor skew with the caveat of not being able to range assassinate Brad. If I was going to try it out in MKIII I'd probably be running this: conflictchamber.com/#b81b_-0pex5m5m4F4F4F4F4Fg4g4g45g5g5e5e5f5fCircle Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] The Bones of Orboros (Thorle 1) Bradigus Thorle the Runecarver [+27] - Wold Guardian [17] - Wold Guardian [17] - Woldwatcher [9] - Woldwatcher [9] - Woldwatcher [9] - Woldwatcher [9] - Woldwatcher [9] Blackclad Stoneshaper [0(3)] Blackclad Stoneshaper [3] Blackclad Stoneshaper [3] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Sentry Stone & Mannikins [5] Sentry Stone & Mannikins [5] Shifting Stones [3] Shifting Stones [3] Keeping open the option of droping both blackclads and shifting stone for another woldwatcher. If watchers were Rat 6 and or Fury 3 I would say he could run a nice combined arms gunline. As it stands he does nothing to increase wold durability and synergy is a shadow of what it used to be for the reasons already listed. Not to mention mystic wards *sigh*
Street pizza has some good lists that can work I would start there. He's a very experienced player so i would defaniteley listen to his advice.

Adding in Wyrds gives a possible 23" ranged assassination threat?
My list is the Bones of Orboros thread.
Played 4 or so more games now, its ok.. the wolds are the biggest let down.
Also the nerfs across the lists sucks.
