Hello,
with hills going away I need to make more terrain and i have no dense fog today. Does anyone have any ideas on how to make them?
I did some quick ones with 3" and 4" bases and painted cotton on top, but it does not look all to great rbh. I need inspiration.

The fact that you need to be able to stand models on top of the fog limit you to flat "terrain", so there's probably not much you can do that would be much better than simply printing a design on a piece of paper and cutting it out, maybe sticking it to some card for durability. Either that or look into those companies that make "flat terrain" mousemat material, like Museonminis or Hexy: hexy.store/2d-terrains/554-fog-2d-foam-terrain.html

I always shill for hiddenforest gaming products. I prefer 3d for stuff I won't move through or is easily played with (ie trees on a template or a rockwall on a template) and 2d for stuff that offers no real impediment, like fog.

Hidden forest is great for not break your wallet 2d terrain. For a good table I think a mix of 2d and 3d is best. If there is a forest make the trees removable. If there is fog, keep a 2d mouse pad base but make the cotton fog bit removable, same thing for burning earth too.
