Hey all,
I'm looking for advice how to use Rasheth properly. He's a bit of a weird one, and I'm not entirely sure what to do with him yet.
Theorizing up a list was of course very different than actually using it. I wanted to try out the Raider + Shaman module Chrisbatson always mentions, I ended up picking a second Raider instead of a shaman only because I didn't have a second card on hand. I had a hunch not taking any heavies was a mistake, but taking beatsticks without beast masters also feels wrong. While it was really cool to be able to obliterate the ghost sniper from the other side of a forest with no reprecussions with the Shaman, I feel like this list needs some actual heavies. A lot of older lists I saw ran double Aradus Sentinels, but without scather and with dropped fury I don't know that they're as relevant anymore.
I'm not sure what to switch to, you can never go wrong with just a plain gladiator, but I'm not sure what I could fit in terms of points afterwards. Gladiator+Savage+agonizer seems neither great nor terrible, and I don't really want to cut into my unit points. I could drop the Dakar and go for something like double Soldier, since they're tough enough not to need paingiver support, but that feels kind of janky,
Making a proper battle report almost feels pointless, we both played incredibly poorly, but there's still a lot to learn from the game. I was incredibly greedy with Rasheth's feat and ended up dying by a single hit point to a stray sentinel walking up and hitting me under (my) feat. Scenario felt incredibly janky, we placed 3 flags in the center of the board, scoring from bottom of 2. I feel like if I held back my troops I could've gotten a solid alpha with my Reivers and repo'd out of the way, but that would've cost me a ton of scenario presence, which makes me feel like it'd have been better to invest more points into disposable stuff I could just use to hold flags, like river raiders.
Army size was 50 pts + 2 requisition options, no theme. I'm slowly introducing my friends to the game, so starting like this and slowly phasing in themes felt right.
