Sigh.... They didn't changed. Well, it is hard to do since they lacks line infantry at all, but that's sorry to hear. Honestly, what's the merit of them over vanilla?

Getting access to a merc infantry unit and still get 3 solos will be fine. But overall a big Meh.
If they have done point correction for cygnar jacks and gun mages this could be ok. If not im not very optemistic.

Thanks for writing this and sharing. For the sake of clarity, the list you offer up in the article features no point changes to either units or jacks. Does this mean that there are none or were you not given any information other than the new theme force rules?
Or in other words, is this what the featured models will cost after the update?
If there aren't any changes to points and rules for any of these models I will be somewhat disappointed. I agree that Kraye will be interesting in Sons but I'm more excited to see what he can do in the new storm division now that he can put some of our character jacks in his battle group in a theme list.

I wasn't told of any changes. and seeing as they have put changed things in other theme force insiders when something did change Im sadly not hopeful for anything outside stormwall and hurricane points drop they already spoke about

It leaves a tiny glimmer hope because I think you are the first person to write an insider spoiler piece who isn't part of the company. It might just mean that they didn't want any spoilers outside the theme itself but I'll admit that I'm stretching here. Gun mages like many other parts of Cygnar suffered from being quite expensive at the start of Mk3 and other factions have only gotten cheaper as time's gone on. I miss their DEF 15 probably most of all. If factions like Circle can have DEF 15 wolf riders (with annoyance on top!) then it would be nice if the Black 13th could have it back at least. I do think the theme has legs though. Without having to worry about what to take for the free solos the list is more open and flexible. Much more likely to look at exploring using a merc unit. I sort of wonder how the new morrow stuff will fit with them because those guys all wield magic weapons and Falk helps them quite nicely. Could even take Constance for something really off the wall.

Falk + Precursors or Morrowan units with magic attacks.
Basically the theme for playing mercs+jacks with minimal Arcane Tempest stuff. It probably competes with heavy metal, which has full access to partisan solos (hopefully they will open it to have full access to partisan units as well).

Remember that Will H specifically said that they wouldn't be making a bunch of changes as part of this and have a lot they know about that needs attention. Fingers crossed that Cygnar and Trolls are up on the docket for the next CID.

Well, although I think that we do need the improvements desperately, but are we supposed to have ther priority still, despite we are already had some CIDs dedicated for us before? We have some issues, but not only Cygnar(and Trollbloods) are the faction with the problems after all....

Its been since early MKIII since either has been touched and they are falling behind in a lot of ways.

Heavy Metal is probably just going away entirely. So, *poof*, no competition.

Unlikely as there would be no home for Sword Knights

Congrats to LuckGod for the collaboration with PP!
I think Sons of Tempest looks great now. I know that it wasn't changed as theme, but I think it is one of the theme forces in the game that gained most from the new requisition system.
I think now SoT is one of our best jack themes. You can go wild with the jacks, and get 3 useful Gun Mage solos on the top (GMCA expecially, that are almost never a bad thing to have around, but also Falk).
I can't see a reason for Caine3, Sloan or Kraye to play in any other theme but SoT, since now they can go full jacks like they want and still get some very useful ranged aids from Gun Mage solos.
Also, I think even some other jack casters, like Darius and Nemos, could like to play in SoT (even if, in this case, SD is also a good option), both for the GMCAs and for Caine0, that could be very interesting for dropping FFE on Thunderhead.

You can only have Caine drop FFE on thunderhead in Heavy Metal though, as the latter is not allowed in Sons.
