What are you blathering about? A spole is the small wheel under the distaff on a spinning wheel; clearly an allegory regarding the ever-turning wheel of the dynamic update system. It is us, the people caught in this endless whirl, who are the spolers. The title merely summons all the WGK-playing spolers to discuss the latest turn.

I AM DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS THREAD. I WAS LURED IN WITH THE PROMISE OF A FRANK DISCUSSION ABOUT SPOLERS, AND THERE IS NONE. When I’m on the ocean in my sloop and the capstan gets tangled in the yardarm after a squall, and my ship is tipping leeward, a spoler is required to free the jib. AND DESPITE THIS BASIC FACT, THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE SENTENCE ABOUT SPOLERS THIS FAR. How is one supposed to win the regatta in this condition? How, sir? HOW. Snape dies. Gandalf comes back. Vader is Luke's father. Sean Bean dies. Thanos does the snap. Is that enough for your purposes?

OK, after my initial negative reaction about being short sheeted on the WAs, I’m starting to see the benefits of not having to pay a tax to take the Adjunct, Joe and Sorscha. That really frees up a lot of points for stuff. Like this.
I’m not *sure* it’s optimal, but as a first pass this has over 40 dudes, including 9 rockets, 3 flame throwers, and the anti-tough no-heal tech. And once you deal with all that, you still have 3 Juggers with pathfinder on a stick that threaten 14”. Seems pretty good.
Khador - Vlad 1 - Oblivion
Vladimir Tzepesci, The Dark Prince - WJ: +28 - Greylord Adjunct - PC: 0 - Juggernaut - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13) - Juggernaut - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13) - Juggernaut - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 2)
Kovnik Apprentice Kratikoff - PC: 0 - Marauder - PC: 11 Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich - PC: 0 Assault Kommandos - Leader & 5 Grunts: 9 - Assault Kommando Flame Thrower - PC: 2 - Assault Kommando Flame Thrower - PC: 2 - Assault Kommando Flame Thrower - PC: 2 Winter Guard Rifle Corps - Leader & 5 Grunts: 8 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 Winter Guard Infantry - Leader & 5 Grunts: 6 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 Winter Guard Infantry - Leader & 5 Grunts: 6 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2 - Winter Guard Rocketeer - PC: 2

That's hardly useful information. He dies in an awfully large proportion of the things he appears in. It's more of a spoiler to me if Sean Bean actually survives a movie/trilogy/series.

Hutchuck I’ve always wanted to like Hutchuck. Maybe the new scenarios and the improved value of ambush will make a difference. I’ll be interested to see how he works for you (and other). 6 points and the solo slot are a steep price tag though... Yeah he's largely in with a nod to the new scenarios. Previous version had Alexia2 and widowmakers, which I might prefer ot be honest. Cheers, Dave

I'm pretty sure for one point more Alexia2 is more usefull as a scenario piece than the very expansive hutchuck, the constesting range on her thralls is pretty absurd and with repo 5 after she has summoned her thralls she can stay safe to do it all over again the next turn.

So how massive is losing advance move reaaaally? We are slow yes, but i think getting joe (and some other staple solos is fantastic). I think this helps Butcher 3 a lot, i never found i wanted field cannons or bombards. This is my current rendition, although when the changes do happen i will most likely swap mechanics and adjunct for Alexia2.
War Room Army

My only suggestion (what I am going to try out) is to move Beast to Butcher3 (and Maurder over to S0). Yes. You give up the shield guard. But in return you can energize Beast, giving you TWO 13 inch threats (one without needing to cast BC on it). BMs are dirt cheap Sac Pawn targets and might help out the fun carriage but I wonder if there isn't something else for them to be applied to - for example should you wish you could mess around with your RC points (drop a rocket, drop to Min) and get Orin or Rags in there. He loves both - Orin to avoid control spell hate and Rags to crank the damage when he goes in to do work as the piece trade starts to happen (a butcher who doesn't have to feat to kill half their army is a VERY happy Butcher). And one thing from left field - if you lose BMs and drop the Maurader to a mad dog you get Gudnrun - one of the best flag campers in the entire game. If your key strategy is to go be a scenario bully (and that is how I would play Butcher then I think Gudrun has game in at least 2 if not all three of the flag scenarios. Even more so since, I think, you go use an Argus (or 2?) to block charge lanes to him to keep him alive for another turn. Would have been nice to get Repo solos on this list so you could really abuse him.

BMs are dirt cheap Sac Pawn targets The theme benefit is Sacrificial Pawn [ Winter Guard trooper model]. It does not work with Battle Mechaniks.

Even more reasons probably to pass on them. You could get, for example, a WAK who CAN get sac pawns, who has innate tough, and could be in the no sleeping bubble so he can tilt the tough rolls. Flag campers important.

Can we just all agree that we will all assume that every theme gets worse or, at best, stay the same. It will prevent many tears and we know it will be true Yay to not having to buy AKs! LOL. Wait till you seem the themes for Cruciable Guard and Infernals. You won't think those have gotten worse. PM is literally just getting worse (absent the general change to themes, which is an improvement). So I'm not sure what you're basing that on?
