You can still have blessed guns, with Reznik2 or Eye of Truth But then youre playing Malekus or in Guardians.

It was definitely a good compromise in terms of keeping the Judicator in check. The thing dominated the theme force, so it helped to curb it without getting rid of the Reliquary benefit. Exemplar Interdiction never felt like a ranged theme, anyway. Aegis is going to be really nice when it comes up. I wish it prevented more than just Fire and Corrosion, but it'll prevent either of those from killing more models than the initial attack that inflicts them.

I'm certain it won't. Malekus needed zero help hitting harder. He still has latent order of activation issues between Open Fire and his Feat that really can't be resolved without redesigning how he works.
Been a rough couple of weeks. Our two lackluster themes remain so and our two good themes got nerfed. Seeing other outliers like DH and Exalted remain as is or even get improved makes me wonder what's going on.
Also understand that at this point we do not have a ranged theme at all, so using the fact that EI didn't feel like a ranged theme isn't a great defense.
Aegis is not enough to get single wound Exemplars back on the table. It's a cute benefit more than it is good. Knights Exemplar need some actual ranged defense to make it to the front--either that or an army-based threat range increase that can be used on more than one unit at a time (GRAVUS...).

I don't think that we have enough ranged options to get a ranged theme, and we have even fewer good options. Saying that, I understand why people might get upset about losing blessed ranged weapons, I was planning to test out a pair of Archons with some Reckoners to see if this helped put Reckoners back on the map. Losing blessed means that I'm down to either Reznik2 or Eye of Truth to get the same benefit. If I get time, I'll trial it and let you know, but I start my masters in October, so it's not likely to be very soon. [edit] I can only have one archon in theme [/edit]
It helps knights a little, but that's not who I see as the chief beneficiaries. I actually thought that it would benefit Bastions and solos more. Bastions can't share fire damage and solos appreciate not being set on fire.

Bastions benefit *a little* but they still suffer from the problem of dying to a stiff breeze when a fiery spray hits them.
Aegis helps, sure, but it's a marginal benefit. If more AOEs like Gorman's existed that plunked down CEs while doing ish blast damage, then we'd be talking.

It helps with Harby and Bastions the most. You don't need to clear it with Purification or anything and you don't have to Martyr if it doesn't go out in your maintenance. Or anyone that can somehow deliver them, like Cyrenia, who can pseudo-buff their defense with the wall and the armor buff. Kreoss2, too, with his stacking buffs.

What are menoth thoughts about vlad3 with judicator? Double s&p, a speed buff and you can bring all the shield guards you ever wanted to deliver cav....with dash providing a way of possibly double striking. Khador lack of shield guards meant inland just got shot off board but the pallies/initiates seem to help with that.

It's going to be really good. Hand of Fate is a helluva drug.

Dash and Infernal Machine are quite a bit more than hotswapping Hand of Fate and occasionally getting some clouds out - and he can hotswap too as needed. He is a fair bit different than HR. Too bad his Feat isn't as good, though we appreciate Sprint on Flamebringers quite a bit. And we can take spray ponies.
