Anyone know if the free solo / 25pts rule includes warbeast points? If it does, Kaya2 is going to be hard to justify, as the only caster in Circle to get 3 free requisitions instead of 4...

It does not. It's about the game size you chose, so anything beneath 25 does not get any recursion bonus (freebies).

Not relevant. As worded, you get X free cards based on the size of game played. Eg. 25pt game = 1 free choice. 75pt game = 3 free choices. WJP/WBP do not matter.

Ah cool; hadn't seen the exact wording. Much better system that way - equal for all the casters. So effectively 3 requisitions for all lists at "normal" points levels, and the only unknown bit is about exactly what constitutes a requisition for what themes. Can't wait to find out!

I'm stoked I can take a larger battlegroup without getting penalised on free cards again. Makes list building more free.
Tharn theme with kromac 2 and 3 heavies might be a fun list to play.

I'm curious to see how much of a resurgence Death Wolves will now have in DH, since they'll no longer count against your free points.

So I've been thinking about this, and it's hardly a revelation but...
The theme force change as described seems to _really_ open up the troop-based themes, and basically do nothing for the beast-based themes. All of the troop-based themes allowed at least half of our beasts, but you were screwed if you took many because that would take away your freebies. Now you can mix in some - or even quite a lot of - heavies and still get the benefits of the free models. Call of the Wild, on the other hand, allows living beasts and Shifting Stones. Even if you couldn't take them as your requisition points, Shifting Stones are FA 2; you can't exactly play an infantry-heavy list in Call. In Bones it makes it easier to take Sentry Stones - but they are so good you were taking them anyways - and Woldstalkers. So, uhm, yay? I mean, I'll probably do it just to get the models on the table, and I guess it's better that I'm not _also_ screwing myself on the theme, but...
I think this is probably fine, by the way. It just means that if you want to go half-and-half, you'll play whichever infantry theme matches your infantry half. Or Secret Masters if you need support solos for your beasts. The biggest benefit for beasts lists - and the best way to add a _little_ infantry - would seem to be the ability to include a Minions unit and count them towards your requisition points. Strangely, it's easier to add Gatormen to my Call list than it is to add Skinwalkers. I can work with that.

That isn't unique to circle. All factions are looking at the same thing. As it is, call of the wild and wild hunt are being merged, I wouldn't be surprised if secret masters and bones are merged too.

I wouldn't count on it, or the screen shot of Secret Masters on the previous page would've mentioned Megalith.

We have seen the new secret masters and it did not allow sentry stones, so it is not merged with bones. Bones will be able to play a unit or minions without penalty though. Thats a thing too.

So it gets access to units and stuff!
