I beleve this was not posted yet
PP gives a preview to the campaign and also to how Theme forces will change. What I get from the video is that you will simply keep the theme lists as they are but you will get a fixed amount of freebes depending on game size.

I think Irregulars and possibly Disciples of Agony will be the most impacted Theme Force with this change if no other benefits change.

Going to be interesting to see how that pans out! Makes Jaws of the Wolf a viable infantry theme, and Wolves of Winter a viable Jack theme. Strange times...

It will have a huge effect on where your jack/beast themes are. For legion it will push Primal Terrors even harder as you can run your beast list with Golab. Any infantry theme with a jack/beast benefit will be a strong contender as well, stuff like Faithful Masses/Exemplar.
We'd need to see the rules, this is just initial thoughts. It seems to benefit protectorate (because of the above 2 themes) and retribution (getting a vyre jack list) most of the WM armies, and almost all hordes armies due to the restrictions on beast availability that WM armies don't suffer. Want to run wolds and warpwolves? Grab a different theme and go for it.

So...this may no be the place for it but, anyone else wished for a little more? Like a lot little more?! Maybe I should start a different thread maybe I shouldn't bring this up but this keynote bugged me. I feel like we all knew what was boing to happen internals, oblivion, and maybe a change to themes. And we got those and a picture of Cyriss at the end. I mean c'mon are we not here for the warmahordes?! Someone tell me I missed something in the keynote where they announced the next five theme force cids and showed previews of a model from each. Armored shark surprise me! Or maybe I should look into riot quest to get my fix...
(Don't get me wrong I think I'm a little disappointed because I was so pumped for Oblivion and the campaign book, that I was expecting to see a little more a glimpse of the future of the game that I loved instead of the future game they want me to love [neo-mechanica nonsense])
sincerely, I'm Not Bitter

Nice! This will neatly solve the entire "certain models only exist in themes that they don't count towards free figures for" problem entirely. It also lets you go towards more of a mix of jacks and infantry without sacrificing too many free things.

The cyriss icon was a nice segway to warmachine 5 k where Chris's apparently helped everyone escape the planet using the laylines when the internals invaded.

As he says. It was an hint for the new Warmachine 5k game coming out next year, involving Cyriss.

This will definitely a big buff to jack marshals which are bound to infantry themes like the MoW Kovnik, Hitch and the Dawnguard Scyir as they metal companions won't eat free solos in their respective themes anymore. It might also buff merc units in non-merc factions as well, depending how it's worded. Nyss Hunters and Devil Doggos for instance won't eat free solos anymore. However it will be a nerf for themes that give you more than 3 free options like Talion or Sons of the Tempest, unless they do some juggeling with the wording. :/
I'm excited to see how they will go about it.

I don't really see how it'll be a buff to jack marshals since they have more than enough problems before we get into themes. I do see the overall change as a positive one. For those theme forces where you could reliably get more than 3 free options, if it was intentionally done, there is an easy fix by making one of the theme force benefits an extra requisition point. I'm really impatient to hear what the rule changes are to the main game.

Marshaled jacks don't contribute to free points in infantry thmes. Now they will. Sure they still have lots of problems, but at least one of these problems is fixed now.

A Cyclone on a Marshal for example is really good. I think the Rager is also pretty effective.

It will be nice to actually use this one merc unit allowed in themes.
