Well, I played a game of Zerkova1 in wolves this weekend, and didn't like it at all, the army plays way too wide for her clouds to cover everything, I think I'll try Zerkova1 in armored corps next, so next caster to try will be OW2 or Sorscha1.
I also think Flame in the dark will just be better for Zerkova1 than Wolves anyway, so that's that.
Can we talk for a bit about list building with Sorscha 1. I’m picking her over OW2 since I think the answers to my questions are both more obvious with OW2.
The first question concerns jack load out - most importantly, two vs. three jacks.
In SR2018 I think the answer was easy - Sorscha doesn’t do much for her jacks, her army is really fast, and you didn’t need to spread out. The tournament I played in this weekend used all 3 new scenarios, and you need to be able to spread your army wide.
In King of the Hill, I wanted a jack in all 3 zones. In Bunkers, I want the options of keeping a jack back in the rear zone so I can push my caster forward, and still have two jacks up front anchoring the flags or pushing to the far zone. In anarchy, although they are circle zones, again I’d like a jack anchoring each circle supporting the zone, but if I do that then my middle is soft and squishy without a 3rd jack.
The second question I have is what’s everyone’s view on taking more Graylord vs. taking more doomreavers? Specifically, is a min unit of Outriders worth putting in, and is it worth paying for one of your Koldun Lords in order to take a unit of Ternion?
Take these two Sorscha 1 builds as examples.

Greylord Outriders - Leader & 2 Grunts: 10
30 Doom Reavers supported by a unit of Outriders feels strong. I’ve got 2 units each for the left, right and center, which feels necessary to cover the different scenarios. Alexia helps with solo spawning and caster protection. Ditto Beast as a shield guard, and Beast plus a Juggernaut feels like a classic combination. Maybe a Kodiak is a good option simply to get the +2” of movement and pathfinder, but the Juggernaut is 9” on the boundless charge and if I want more hitting power to solve a problem I want a lot more...not a little more. The major issue I see with this list is what happens in the new scenarios?
If I wanted 3 jacks, conveniently you could swap Beast out for a Rager (so you still have a shield guard), and a Berserker whose primary utility will be scoring zones.
Khador - Sorsch 1 - Doomreaver 300 - Alternate Battlegroup
Kommander Sorscha - WJ: +29
- Greylord Adjunct - PC: 0
- Juggernaut - PC: 13 (Battlegroup Points Used: 13)
- Rager - PC: 10 (Battlegroup Points Used: 10)
- Berserker - PC: 8 (Battlegroup Points Used: 6)So here’s what the list looks like if I squeeze in 3 “quality” (non-berserker chassis) jacks.
I need to lose the Outriders, or a unit of Doomreavers. Buuuutt...now I’ve got 3 quality jacks and can cover all the scenarios (but at the loss of rapid ranged support).
