Stalkers walk and leap though, are you not playing with any terrain? Cryx is quite good into Harbinger. Whatever list with a couple of stalkers, desecrators, or Venethrax or Blood Witches can all make it manageable. Blood rain and Venom actually become relevant spells too. We play with terrain, but a central forest is often not large enough to hide from both Champions as well as the Judicator. Even walls are not adequate defense against MAT 8 cavalry charges. Like I said, I tried Venethrax, but you're banking on landing Mortalities and then sending in a Slayer to trade for 3 Initiates. After you trade down against the entire army, you're still staring at a Judicator. You're also generally disadvantages on threat range and Champions laugh at Cryx jacks. Maybe I should try again with new experiences. I don't think Venethrax will have focus to spare to cast Blood Rain, but I should remember that Skarre 1 has it as well. It will basically only be useful against clumped up Idrians, but you never know when the opportunity presents itself. I get the feeling though, that limited Grievous Wounds doesn't help that much, because you will get a couple of solos, but lose whatever you committed in retaliation, then you are back to square 1 with the rest of the army. In your opinion, how does a game play out with, say, 4 Stalkers + rest of army under a non-Mortality caster? What do you prioritize; where do you spend your Stalkers, and how do you use the rest of the army?

Cryx is quite good into Harbinger I can't agree with this statement at all. It wasn't true before the initiates and it's even less true now. The are a lot of things in Harby lists that match threat with or out-threat a stalker and kill them pretty routinely (Champions, Initiates, etc) and the Harby player will go after them aggressively. The stalkers that do make an impact will probably trade pretty evenly, at best. The saving grace is that the Devout is getting dropped off sometimes in favour of Judicator, so spell assassination becomes a bit more live vs her.

Forests, clouds, obstructions, rough terrain (champions don't have pathfinder), they can charge something but it shouldn't be the stalkers.
Blood rain is great vs Initiates, they clump up to use their stupid ability and you can force constant martyrdoms.
Limited grevious wounds isn't AMAZING but it gives you game. Harbinger is completely unwinnable for some armies due to being all living and having almost no anti-healing (trolls, legion, cephalix) but being able to at least bring down some models is great to push in and start threatening Harby.
I say Cryx is quite good because we DO have anti-healing, our shooting game tends to be minor (vs the shield guard spam), half the infantry and all the jacks are non living vs awe, don't usually try push/place/slam/etc that initiates shut down, don't tend to be too reliant on defensive upkeeps (never mind animi) and Harby doesn't have RFP or stealth/cloud ignoring tech.

I faced off against Harby on Thursday, bringing the list that I thought was least likely to deal with her well: Skarre 2, running Black Industries. My Kraken, Leviathans, and Malice (1) faced off against nine high-armor shield guards. I did lose (2), but the list worked better in some ways than I had expected. Instead of bringing the right tools for the job, this is a case of just hammering away at the enemy until their defenses break down.
Get close enough to the kicky monk to ensure your blast doesn't drift off him. It will miss, but still finish the guy.
Black Spot whatever unit shares shield guards with more important targets, especially if they're outside Harby's command range. The shield guards will have no choice but to grab those shots to keep the Kraken from getting more shots with its main gun.
As noted above, the Order of the Wall doesn't much like Black Rain.
Skarre 2's feat is just the ticket to ensure that your jacks can trample over to where you need them.
When placing warriors, play them aggressively forward. That way, they can move to where they are needed without ending up closer to Harby on her feat turn. The Kraken can weather a Pow 14 blast of fire, while your Black Ogrun Ironmongers can't.
Notes:
(1) A Corruptor would have worked better than Malice. The list will be tweaked next time.
(2) I hadn't learned that warcasters don't contest zones, curse it all! If had left one of my Ironmongers to help Skarre hold one zone, I would have crushed Harby next turn. She had two Leviathans staring her down from six inches away... Now I know.
