I am currently playin doomy1 or 2 and calandra.
Doomy1 is way better than i expected, have to try him more often.
Calandra is gold against most builts except mohsar.
Whatever list you play _ add Dhalia and Skarath. This is the best option we have.
I have tried Grim2 and its a trap. Failed mortality = game. I even teched for puppetmaster but no. Its not the answers imho.
Just my 2 cant.
I also expect a circle nerf during summer.

You definately have to give up a free solo, but it is worth it. If no birdy Dhalia is usually immune to the entire iona army... Just Leave the snake behind and run into them and catch em unitleaders. Even with bird a good played Dhalia can hold an entire flank by herself.. Just playin a flute

I checked a few Warlocks and I think Grim1 and maybe 2 would be great. But in a vacuum. Grim1 could literally scalpel models from 17" away and his feat makes tharn really unhappy. Both would prefer a shooty list however...

I've been theory machining Grim1 and I kind of like it a lot. Grim2 I still can't pull the trigger on without an arc node (or witchmark on that gun, Garry2 got it....). Half his spell list, and its the good half, might as well not be there.
I am giving serious consideration to Grim1 though. I actually have a list with no Stone that I don't hate. not sure I like it, but I don't hate it.

Also Jarl could be good. He shoots very far and could just remove something here and there (this adds up). Trick shot could even do some corner case damage on Ravager UAs without triggering vengeance. Bringing the Bog Trog mist speaker helps with stealth. His speed buff means that together with Rush and EBDT bonus, you could well out threat tharn and do a little damage with your sacrificial EBDT. Clouds could prevent and Alpha and allow you to position very aggressively. It could also try to just block half his stuff while you attrition on the other half. War Room Army

Doomie1 is an anti-Iona choice, removing upkeeps that protect her Tharn warriors, so in effect a TB, not-buff, but reset button. Still have to deal with Tough and Rapid Healing and Corpse buy/boost and innate higher DEF and forests. BoH is my answer to Tough, but shoehorning Alten Ashley? Nah, we need a unit-based or area-effect Grievous (wait for Elder #3 or Sorcerer #2 <--that would sell a lot of $25 models). Can I borrow Express Teams in BoH? Ha! Anti-Corpse tech? Spread out, right? Far apart! Just what TBs synergies and abilities are NOT conducive to... Fell Callers help against higher DEF and terrain. Alas Doomie1's Feat remains eminently ignorable as Devourer builds rarely rely on Forcing/Fury to generate a big damage swell. If his Feat read "While in his control range opposing models can only make their initial, non-special attack(s)" that might be an answer (loooong awaited!!)
Anti-Corpse tech bubble could/should come with Dhunian Archon (Fluff=TBs dissolve into thin air, like Obi Wan, joining with their Mother Goddess). That would be an answer to a current pressing problem. /CID dreams

I hae wolf riders in that list and lucky dice allowed me to kill her but that was REALLY lucky dice 🤣

How do you kill Dahlia with Wolf Riders? Her bubble is 8 inches, Wolf Riders only thrown their spears 7 inches, or am I missing something?

grim1 with dahlia would be pretty fun into circle. Since creating this thread I've been putting reps into a Grim2 list and it's....working is the best I can say. I don't really have any groundbreaking tech to report or anything which is why no updates, but I don't hate it. It's a hard match for Trolls, and that's not going to change. I'm just really trying to find my 50/50 at the moment.

What is your list deathbymelancholy? I am in the same spot. Desperately trying to find that 50/50 but Northkin theme is not that for me, so... I really miss a solid list like Runes of War was in mk2. Was good for years, could play into a lot of matchups, survived changing meta for a long time but most importantly; allways had a chance. Nowadays if I lose initiative against Tharn on a live scenario I feel like my chance for a win drops down to 5-10%... Doesn't even matter which lists we have for the most part Maybe SR19 will nerf the live scenarioes? That would be nice. Give us a little more game into the big boys and might bring back the beloved troll brick playstyle. Hmmm

Slight variations on this. Long range mortality. Ambush combined with feat to get the most affect from the guns available. Champions are the late game "problem" instead of a heavy or two to mitigate them being outthreated by basically everything. I've pulled together two wins with it out of 5-6 games.
