In the last Dev Hangout, PP said that one caster of every of these factions (Cygnar, Khador, Protectorate, Crucible Guard and Mercs) will be included in the Hearth of Darkness theme as a "what if" infernalist traitor, and that it will be chosen making sense with the actual canon (PP, please, be true on that...).
What do you think could be our potential infernalist?

Here is my opinion:
Maddox surviving years of tortures by Menoth fanatics and being abbandoned (forgotten) by her country would make for a good set up for an infernal to offer help in change of an already lost soul...
Plus, she got her hair white during the prigiony (due to the orrors she endured, or due to the pact?), escaped by herself somehow (infernals help?), and being the poster girl of recent Cygnar recruitment effort (she is like Uncle Sam for Cygnar) would explain troops joining her to fight for Infernals.
Another good candidate (imo) would be Siege, being always depicted as a severe official, obeing whatever orders arrived from the top (they said he would have probably sided with Vinter if he was present at the coup), would make a good cover-agent and another respected official that could bring troops away with him.
The last, and less likely in my opinion, candidates would be Sloan and Kraye, who both seem severe officials and that are known little enough to leave PP space to write pretty much what they want about them (Sloan maybe made a pact to save her lover soldier that was almost killed in battle?).
Nemo, Stryker, Connie and Haley are fervent Morrowans, and have taken too many steps in the "good" direction to make any sense as infernalists (Nemo in particular both founded the Strangelight Workshop, that fights infernals, and refused to turn Cyrissist, a thing an infernal would gladly do, since being put into an immortal vessel would safekeep his marked soul from arriving to the Infernals after his death, a thing also quite close due to his age).

Given that we will only be getting one and not a "named" set I think Maddox is the safe bet.
Caine would've been my preferred so that we can get three casters in infernals but I'll take whatever we get and put it on the table.

I sincerely hope Maddox is in the theme. Howlers and Infernal Gates seem to do more for her than anything else in her own faction.

Maddox is a good idea. Can't think of anyone else but Styrgis ... but that would be kind of lame

I can't imagine a traitorous caster in Cygnar, actually. All of them are quite royal to Cygnar - even for our prodigal son Caine, of course.

They said in the dev chat that the caster in HoD ar enot necessarily traitors. They can be coerced, manipulated or even abuse the crisis for political reasons. (E.g. Malakov would totes sing up for some horroers to elevate his station, even in the name of the motherland). There are more shades of grey to it than them always being traitors.
Oh and btw, Cygnar's HoD caster is Kara Sloan.

Yeah. Anyway PP have to pick one of them, and it is safe to say pick someone on the lists of the theme force because it is not the canon scenario. Perhaps it is possible that the may corrupted, or manipulated, but it does not means they are turn against us in the canon story.

Though I wished they would have picked any other caster for gameplay reasons. Why would a battlegroup caster ever pick an infantry theme? Maddox should have been it.
