Interesting article. I did notice that you recommend the maximum FA for most of the solos; I wonder if that's a little bit unrealistic?

Not bad since the summary and rundown are succinct and practical but I would really like to see some lists for this kind of article to help describe and demonstrate how such solos fit into armies and support the description as to their role. Theme forces have helped a lot in some ways as you'd only really need to do 3 lists to demonstrate how most of the solos would fit into their respective themes. This also works to highlight how easy/difficult it is to fit such solos into lists and how much personal preference will dictate their inclusion. It's particularly relevant for Sons of the Tempest and Gravediggers because both of those lists have the option and capacity for quite a lot of solos (character and generic) for certain builds. Because this is demonstrating a function of list building it doesn't have to cover all the options. In some ways it just highlights how some are more niche or less powerful than others.

Out of the 6 solos which are above FA1 I only recommend going max FA on 3 of them (Gunmage rifleman, GMCA & trench buster) and give the caveat to only do so if you like the theme they are in. I don't think thats too unrealistic tbh those are widely regarded as great solos as far as I know

Thats a great point, and I would love to get round to writing about the themes in general if I'm honest. The trouble lies with the fact that those types are articles are huge and take a very long time to write, I want to get round to it though but it will take time
