Hi Folks,
i am building a new list pair for the upcomming meta and as CG enters the meta in my opinion a anti shooting list seems to be in every troll pair.
conflictchamber.com/?c7201b_-0G02fmjqfI6Gj20li-iZiZezi_j3Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Glacier King [35] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [3] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Pyg Lookouts (min) [7] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18]
A Glacier King in SoTN paired with Gunny is a blast. 16" power 16 fully boosted seems to be a good start for a list. Mist Speaker should be also quiet obvious with the amount of shooting this list offers.
The Hooch Hauler is a test for this list. In theory if you are able to cycle snipe between HH and the GK the HH should be a nice piece in the list. It also adds +1 attack rolls of the GK. Testing will tell if its a worth it. The Lookouts are also a test unit in theory it sounds like to have a piece ambushing and helping to increase the rat of your pieces. Especialy the HH could use some hit buffs.
Will keep you updated of how this list will work some test games will be played this week.

Cycling snipe does not work properly here as the GK always wants to acticate after gunny for guided fire...

Cycling snipe does not work properly here as the GK always wants to acticate after gunny for guided fire... Yes that's correct. But I thought that maybe if you aim and +1 attack rolls of the hh. You do not need guided fire and could activate the gk first. Then cycle it onto the hh. But the hh could be also a nice target for explosivo .

Yeah, and the Lookouts help too i guess, unless you are fishing for crits.
I worry that the list is way too support heavy though. You have a fell caller with no great target for fell calls, an 18 point battle engine which pays several of those points for its support functions, a 7 point unit that mainly supports the support battle engine and a mist speaker that is nice to have, but you already have an out for incorporeal at least.
You went with the single gargantuan BG that i kind of like, but it is also a bit risky as you cant produce enough fury and you basically never will have a transfer target. You will not run in to specific problems you cant solve, but maybe you will run in to the problem of "my opponent seems to have more stuff than i do" in virtually every game. It is definitely worth testing, but id keep an eye on that particular aspect...

I worry that the list is way too support heavy though. You have a fell caller with no great target for fell calls, Well he actually provide pathfinder for the northkin fire eaters whom really need it. But beside that yes its somewhat limited what he helps with.

feel like raiders would be better than the fire eaters and lookouts if you're bringing HHH. Then you have a pretty substantial group of hard hitting ranged options

I was playing Gunny in SotN with an HHH for awhile. I played something like this: conflictchamber.com/?c7201b_-0G02esiUjq6G6R0l0mj5iTbKj3Trollbloods Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Dozer & Smigg [18] - Rök [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Troll Whelps [4] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Stone Scribe Elder [3] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] Trollkin Champions (max) [16] - Skaldi Bonehammer [0(5)] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18] It was actually pretty dang solid although rough on clock with all the AoE and sprays. I still wasn't thrilled with the HHH accuracy even with Lucky Shot from Dozer. The Hauler buffs everything except Gunny and Dozer. It also gives Rok Stumbling Drunk back. Dozer gives the Hauler Lucky Shot to help the main gun hit and sprays + Explosivo can be disgusting. The real rock stars actually tended to be the Raiders with Snipe though. Changing those grenades from 8" to 12" and upping them to Rat 6 makes a massive difference in their ranged output.

Trolllock i see your argument. The main concept behind Gunny is the ability of explosivo to remove opponents models and to find a list that differs from the standard Troll lists. I am not sure about the HH cause i think rat 5 really hurts him. He could easy be rat 6 if look at the current battle engines. Perhaps we see a Fellcaller for ranged units in the upcomming cids.

To satisfy my years goal of trying every warlock in ways I haven't tried, I decided to give this a whirl conflictchamber.com/?c7201b_-0G02esiUjqfIj20ki-iZiZj5cCj3Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Dozer & Smigg [18] - Rök [19] - Trollkin Runebearer [0(5)] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Valka Curseborn, Chieftain of the North [0(6)] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [0(3)] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Bear Handlers & Battle Bears [10] Northkin Raiders (max) [15] - Trollkin Sorcerer (1) [3] Hearthgut Hooch Hauler [18] Its worked pretty well so far but I think I'm going to swap out fish sticks for a fell caller and gobber chef. MAT 7 is good but MAT 9 on the raiders seems pretty clutch. I keep debating swapping rok for a bomber or impaler but I think that his threat is pretty necessary.

I have to say, that I don't understand those lists. Best thing in Gunny is his Guided Fire, which is not used in yours list. I can get that in melee oriented list but then why include Dozer & Smigg? Here is list I am testing & tweaking for some time now: conflictchamber.com/?c7201b_-0b029DfmiYiY7h04fIfJfJ6R4g0ki-Trollbloods Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] The Power of Dhunia [Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Dire Troll Mauler [15] - Glacier King [35] - Ice Troll [9] - Ice Troll [9] - Storm Troll [9] - Winter Troll [8] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Northkin Shaman [0(4)] Northkin Shaman [0(4)] Troll Whelps [0(4)] Farrow Razorback Crew [5] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (min) [6] - Northkin Elder [3] Plan is simple. Snipe on GK allow him to threat almost everything, and with Guided Fire you don't need to get into the melee, but opponent need to come to you. Ice Trolls and Winter Troll benefit from Guided Fire also, fishing for criticals. Mauler is esential in this list. You have to keep him back to protect him as much as possible. Because when your opponent came you will need that rage. Also with Rage (and aura from stone) Ice Troll is throwing POW 18 Spear. Most of the time I am trying to keep Gunny save, and then you can cast Guided Fire and one Primal (and upkeep Snipe/Rock Wall). Then Mauler can cast his animus on second Ice Troll. I used to play with Bomber + Dhunian Knot instead of Strom Troll & Winter Troll & Mist Speaker and Razorback Crew. But the problem was that you have a lot of single target answers, but when opposing a lot of cheap infantry I had a lot of problems. Strom Troll was amazing when included. Especially when I faced Convergance with a lot of solos. Winter Troll is also working nice, 3 dice on attacks increase chances for stationary, but he can also charge, kill a guy and then use Kill Shot to catch some guys too. Mist Speaker was great addition solving some problems this list have. Razorback Crew is fine. I guess I could swap it for something but I don't have any idea what could work better, and to be honest rng 14", pow 14 (+3 dice) is not so bad. Also Grunt is fine shooting at 10" with Pow 12. Most of the time I don't have problem with just Rat 4. Because I can always found something stationary or with low def. Also it's unit, so can help with Objectives, because you only have Krielstone for that.

I can get that in melee oriented list but then why include Dozer & Smigg? ... Guided fire is AMAZING on Rök too as it works on his spray with both Assault and Kill shot. Sure it is not as good as it is on a MK, but its still very relevant. D&S are very solid as a combined arms beast with Gunny. Again, kill shot is key as it allows you to shoot twice potentially and snipe out stuff. Rök provides a damage buff so he can do a bit of work in melee too.
Your list is nice too, but gunny can very easily play this more melee focused battle group and do very well. I played him quite extensively (though that was before SR2017...) with both types of lists and both are very good. They just do different things

Iv just played 3 games with the following list:
Trollbloods Army - 74 / 75 points [Theme] Storm of the North
[Gunnbjorn 1] Captain Gunnbjorn [+28] - Glacier King [35] - Rök [19] Bog Trog Mist Speaker [4] Fell Caller Hero [0(5)] Kriel Warriors (max) [11] Krielstone Bearer & Stone Scribes (max) [9] - Northkin Elder [0(3)] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Northkin Fire Eaters [7] Pyg Lookouts (max) [10]
Game 1. Invasion. Into Morghoul1, beast heavy list with Mammoth. Won 5-0 on scenario. Managed to block him out of Left zone entirely with Kriel warriors and use the Rock Wall placement to keep the mammoth out of the center zone. Glacier King killed some support staff and pushed beasts out of zones. Pygs ambushed turn 2 and took out some support staff. TBH my opponent should have committed harder to zones but a solid victory.
Game 2. Invasion. Into Sorcha3 MoWs. Won by caster assassination. Opponent pushed hard to the side zones. Managed to clear R zone with Fire Eaters and Rok doing assault and berserk. L zone was a slug fest with Kriels and Fire Eaters chipping away but slowly loosing. Pygs ambushed turn 3 to start shooting support staff and apply some more scenario pressure. Mist Speaker helping GK and Gunny with eyeless sight to get through clouds, concealment etc. GK advanced up the center and was able to chip away at MoW's and Sorcha from range and then advance into melee range to deliver final fist-to-face. But i felt like i could have done it from range if needed. unless my opponent went backwards toward the killbox.
Game 3. Invasion. Into Iona TDH. Oh the horror! Not enough staying power or models to cover.
Good list. May consider dropping the Pygs for another ranged beast like Pyre or Storm troll and that might allow me to get another solo in

beardmonkHow about min pygs? That gives you for example a runebearer and a feralgeist 🤔 Oh, and remember that sorscha is immune to frost.
