So what are your plans?
For me, he's going in Defenders first with a Banshee, Moros and AFG as a base. Infantry and more guns to spare. I love his spell list and still think Mortality is an insane value. I'll probably end up stapling Sylys to him but I really want to try and avoid it if I possibly can. That upkeep for free and free boosting however really makes his 4 points a value real fast.
The "issues" I see upfront are his Focus (as is tradition) and my lack of an arc node. I'm really relying on his gun to stick Mortality where I need it, which I "think" is fine, but will need to test to really nail down. I'm not sure how much value I get out of Road to War just yet, but it's too expensive to cast on the fly so it's up early and upkept. I see Mage Sight being the one that is used on the fly and as needed and Occultation being the niche spell.
So where is everyone else at.

I've been theory-crafting him in LOD with a handful of harpies, Imperatus, moros and a unit of sentinels+ua. Road to war + Mortality + Imperatus's side-steps should make any caster have to be really careful of their placement. The harpies I like with him mainly for the fact they are rat 6 with thunderbolt. Pushes can help potentially keep models safe and you can always hope for the crit to knock them down. Toss occultation onto the sentinels and now Garryth no longer has to worry about having his LOS blocked for shots, and helps them survive to contact. And sentinels with essentially defensive strike is awesome. Ghost snipers are there for another source to proc road to war. Void tracer is for spell hate, and flag capping. Im between a double sentinels ( pop mini feat on feat turn for high armor no knockdown weaponmasters to punch incoming attacks) or shadows for an almosy completely stealth force with a lot of weaponmasters and blessed weapons to pair with mortality.

So correct me if I'm wrong, but won't the Siren's death driver ability trigger on the feat shot? It would only be beneficial if there is another model within walk+melee range of the shot model, but could be a fun interaction to potentially kill 2 models with one shot.

How many jacks do we think Scary Gary wants to run?
So far my lists have been bouncing between only using his WJPs for a Banshee+Moros and filling the rest with infantry, to having 1-2 heavies and 2-3 lights to take advantage of the oddball ability shots like death driver and thunderbolt.
He will be pretty focus starved with two upkeeps (one free with sylys who has been in most of my lists, usually free) and then 3 for an application of mortality with his gun. Arcanist will help with the focus load and also damage buffing, giving our jacks a potential +4 damage swing is always nice.
Note: I've been mostly building him in DoI and LoD themes.

Alot of the lists that I have been theorycrafting are using 2 Harpies and Impy in LoD. I could definitely see adding in Moros for acrobatics + Road to War + fleet ridiculousness after some testing.
The main theme of my theorycrafting has been occultation destors though.
