I was toying with a Call of the Wild list with Kromac2 - not, I realize, exactly an innovative idea - when I ran across LoS Jaden 's journeyman list over at LOS. Mine isn't for a journeyman though, so I didn't want to muddle up the comments over there. That said, it's pretty similar to what I came up with, and in mine I'm looking for a 7-point warbeast to fill it out at the end, so I'm wondering if anyone can comment on why his choices for same are good. For context, our lists look like: His journeyman
| My thoughts
| Kromac 2 - Shadowhorn - Pureblood - Feral - Stalker - Ghetorix - Scarsfell - Gorax - Argus Blackclad Wayfarer (free) Blackclad Waferer (free) Shifting Stones (free) | Kromac 2 - Shadowhorn - Pureblood - Feral - Stalker - Ghetorix - Shadowhorn - 7-point beast Blackclad Wayfarer (free) Blackclad Waferer (free) Shifting Stones (free) Shifting Stones Lord of the Feast (free)

Basically, I liked the second stones for more fury management and annoying contesting, and I liked the idea of hitting exactly 100 points of beasts and throwing a free LotF in there. That means the Scarsfell - which I otherwise quite like in this list - had to go because the points don't work; along with one of the 7-pointers it pays for a second Shadowhorn and my second stones. That leaves me with one 7-pointer, and I can't decide what I want.
I can see Jaden's reasoning for both the Gorax and the Argus, but he's constrained by the journeyman format, and I wonder if the list really needs a Doppler Bark - especially with Carnage and a second Shadowhorn for throws / knockdowns. And I've always hated Primal a bit - enough that I'm shy of doing it twice in the same turn, anyways - though the Gorax just Primalling himself and suiciding on Kromac's feat turn does make him a pretty cheap missile. But what's my other option? A Razorwing? It has to be 7 points exactly or I don't get my free Lord.
Any thoughts?

I'd honestly not try too hard for that fourth free card. If you optimally want to build a Kromac 2 list with LotF, you should be bringing a Boilmaster and Spirit Cauldron since both LotF and Kromac 2 REALLY like having that. Sticking pretty close to that core, I'd play: conflictchamber.com/?c8201b_-0WfcmDmK4MmCmJ5g5g2QmIec5HjX5fCircle Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Call of the Wild [Kromac 2] Kromac, Champion of the Wurm [+28] - Feral Warpwolf [16] - Ghetorix [19] - Pureblood Warpwolf [17] - Shadowhorn Satyr [12] - Warpwolf Stalker [17] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Blackclad Wayfarer [0(4)] Feralgeist [2] Lord of the Feast [0(6)] Una the Falconer [4] - Scarsfell Griffon [8] Boil Master & Spirit Cauldron [5] Shifting Stones [3] Una is a great solo and awesome at infantry clear. Feralgeists are money since no one brings magic weapons into circle, and he can also randomly keep a warbeast around once it has died in the mid game for another contesting piece if needed. I really like the Spirit Cauldron with both Kromac and LotF as outlined above, and I think this list is just better all round.

I do like the looks of the Cauldron on paper... I just don't own one. It's on my want list.
I do own an Una, but so far the model has steadfastly resisted all attempts to assemble it.

if it's just a straight choice between wild argus and gorax i'd be for the argus unless you want some primal redundancy. It's faster, more mobile and hits harder as a primal missile with the pow 18/20 on feat turn combo-bite and then pow 14/16s thereafter which is exactly what you'd get from the gorax. Plus they're just at the annoying point of def to kill for somethings.
However if you want some primal redundancy rather than relying on the feral then the gorax is ok as well.

I see what you mean. Plus, I like me an argus more than I've ever cared for goraxi, and Doppler Bark assassinations - or the threat thereof - are always a useful tool. I am actually also tempted to try the list with a Razorwing, just because you never see them and I'd like to make one work, and because beast-heavy lists like this sometimes have trouble getting out enough attacks to deal with infantry spam. But I feel like Trample is in a bad place at the moment, so probably the argus is better.

ive had decent luck with a razorwing before. with primal, feat, animus its MAT8 boosted attacks at POW 16. and even without feat POW 14 vs infantry and cav is still very good. It can be especially effective after most stuff is engaged and clumped up.
