It's a holiday in Mexico, and I'm alone in the office, so what better opportunity for a quick recap of my latest SR experience.

This list is supposed to complement my Irusk_2 ArmCorp list. I plan on dropping Irusk_2 until I see a Huge Base or DevHost. My hypothesis is that Wolves under Old Witch_2 can pivot into Colossals and Tharn thanks to Wind Storm, the Trio of Marauders under Feat, and 30 Doomies you can't shoot at without over extending.
This last Steam Roller was basically a testbed for me, I only brought the one list and I Iron Man it all 3 rounds
I'm pretty happy with the results because I got to play against 3 different Boogey man lists run by great players (I even got paired against Juris
)
Round 1: vs High Reclaimer in Exemplar Interdiction with Judicator and Sev_0
Scenario: Recon II
Outcome: I won on Scenario 7-2
I went first and deployed my Marauders in the middle. He deployed Judy on my left so I AD most of my Doomies on my Right to flood the Zone with Reavers and avoid Rockets. My first turn I pretty much spent running things in circles around Judy and lining up my Marauders across from it. Scenario was very live for me from the get go, I was already scoring my Flag by my second turn, and clearing any contesters with 4 waves of Reavers. On the left I fed Eliminators, 1 unit of Reavers, and then my Jacks to prevent him from scoring on my turn. In the end I think that Wind Storm and Marauders really kept the Judy honest, it never quite committed to the scenario. Offensive placement of my Crow Clouds also caused some issues for him.
Round 2: vs Gearheart in Magnum Opus??? (the infantry theme)
Scenario: Standoff
Outcome: I won on Scenario 9-4
I went second vs Juris playing Gearheart. This was a very difficult game, and both of us almost clocked out. But I learned that Sprays and Snipe will pretty much ruin OW's plans. Even though the attrition battle was harder on me this round, I did pretty much the same thing as first game, Flood one zone with Reavers and clear it to score. Marauders didn't do much except eat some charges and slam Trancers the hell away from me
I'm sure if Juris had just 2 more minutes we would have assassinated me though. In retrospect I probably should have lined up the Marauders against the CGI and kept my Reavers safer in the other zone.
Round 3: vs Iona in DevHost
Scenario: Invasion
Outcome: Lost by Assassination
Ok, so apparently having 30 Doom Reavers is a lot for OW to keep safe. Even with Wind Storm up, my opponent managed to get LotF into a far flank with his bird. Luckily he only took down 4 Reavers and then Died on my Turn. No big deal. The Wolf Riders with Sure Foot though... holly Firetruck are they a Female Dog to deal with, effectively DEF 18 with a Annoyance
Thing is that Wolf Riders are way more resilient than Reavers. My opponent was pretty smart though, he quickly identified my plan of Collapse One Flank and Score Out and countered with his plan of Collapse One Flank and go for the Kill, which is exactly what happen
In retrospect I think I could have been more aggressive with the Witch in order to get some Blind Crows on the Wolfs. I definitely need to figure out how to deal with Defensive upkeeps, which is why I can't wait for the Adjunct to make room for Eilish and Ruin.
So anyway, I lost, went 2-1 against pretty good opponents, but SoS being what it is I took third
But I got a lot of juicy data and it felt great!
Final Thoughts:
* I think I can drop the Third Marauder and make room for Ruin. The Dispel would come in handy, and out threatening Judy by 1 inch makes me feel more comfortable into that match up. You only need like 1.5 Marauders to kill Judy anyway.
* I'm gonna drop the second unit of Ternion. I didn't feel they added much to my games, and most turns I was either throwing down clouds that didn't matter or taking potshot just because I could. No real value came from them. I'm confident that 1 unit should be enough to get the DEF debuff where you need it.
* Ponies. Don't think my list in particular needs them, not for what I want the list to do (pivot into Huge Bases and Tharn). That said, I think they should be in a list if you want it to be a generalist Sweeper list.
* Doomies do need help hitting sometimes, once they start swinging beyond DEF 14, it gets dicey really quick. So have a plan to help them hit.
* I think I would have done way better against that High Reclaimer List had I known my rules better
Fell Curse stops Self Sacrifice, and Wind Storm prevents random AoE deviations into my ranks. I didn't prevent either during the game cause I'm dumb.
