your top favourite and least favourite things about the game just to start things off, my favourite thing would have to be how many options some lists feel like they have on the table, it can be a lot of fun to play lists like Krueger2 or Denny2 etc. Least favourite would have to be MK3 list building - a lot of lists feel like they write themselves to me with theme forces (limited unit choice, usually some standard free solos taken etc). How about you?

Favorite - Depth. Lots of interesting strategies and you can create, in most factions, armies that play VERY different from one another Least - gaming with sticks, steppers, and laser pointers. Fiddly bits for the sake of fiddly bits.

PROS: Casters and locks and how everything revolve around them, and how there are butt loads of em for choice.
CONS: The game is bloated and constantly grows more bloated over time. The bloat that MKIII cut away at the start seems to have been replaced in slightly more than a year.

Favourite: The 2d6 system. You have a roughly bell curve shaped probability dristribution, and boosting as a luck mitigation mechanic. That makes the math really interesting.
Least favourite: Aesthetics. While the game supports 3D terrain, and the rules encourage painting, it seems like most WMH games are a lot of grey armies on flat terrain, with rings littered everywhere. It just look unimpressive compared to just about every other wargame out there.

Favourites; the core rules - pretty short and well written
Least favourite: thememachine. List building has never been as boring as now. My dojo time is at an all time low.

Fav: how tight the actual game is compared to other systems out there
Least Fav: The fact that many in the community don't get their models painted. "The Hobby" is not seen as part of the games/scene and is given very little importance.

Least favourite: thememachine. List building has never been as boring as now. My dojo time is at an all time low. While I don't agree with the way themes have been enforced, I really don't feel like it stifles list building, it merely gives a framework to do the building in. I still iterate lists and try different things, my choice in what things I can try is just shorter. With most themes now having a rather broad spectrum of choices as well as battle groups being restricted rarely, add in mercs and I find that there are still plenty of options available. The people that accept net lists as being "solved" are the same people that net listed before. Be the change you want to see

Favorite: Core rules, skill is highly rewarded.
Worst: Logistics, "Stealth that isn't stealth" type rules, lack of a terrain generation system that involves the players in a game.

Favorite: depth of tactics available in both list building/pairing and on the table
Worst: Pass/fail, non interactive mechanics like Stealth, Incorporeal, certain recursion mechanics like Ghost Fleet and Clockwork Legion. Either you put an answer in your list or you didn't (and will likely lose due to its absence)

Fav: depth of choices that rewards creativity, balance, control over randomness
Worst: lack of "play it painted" mentality and general poor looks, skew lists, unnecesary complication, unreasonable pricing

It's very rare that people will play a game that they like with people they don't. I think it's very common for people to play games they only feel ok about or even somewhat dislike with people they enjoy. Truly, the most important component to selling a game to a new player is the ability to get along and make friends.

This in a nutshell encompasses my favourite and least favourite parts of WMH. The people who collect and play can be a very interesting group.
Conversely, sometimes they are so competitive that getting any game aside from Steamroller practice out of them is almost impossible. The Warhammer groups in my local groups tend to be more relaxed about competitive play, probably because they understand the nature of Warhammer.
