The cool thing about this is, that if you want to be Jack Heavy (so 3 and a light or something?) you cannot just spam cheap heavies, because you run out of them very soon. I like this approach as it helps with variety and stops a huge amount of "cheese"

Ouch, that would leave the Immortals Theme in a lurch.
Or maybe not at 25 points...

Do you think 75 point armies is too much for Warmachine/Hordes? I saw some comments in the PP business plan thread which suggest that some people find it too much. For me it makes death clock the least enjoyable part of the game, and my army-buying strategy is to limit the number of models I put on the table. 50 or 35 would be much more fun for me, but I'm curious as to what others think. Not a doom-and-gloom thread -- I otherwise enjoy the models and the ruleset and the community immensely. 75 points work but usually you have to force a death clock on it or timed rounds to keep the games from going too long or the model bloat from going crazy. Death clock or timed rounds keep the 75 point games lean and mean.

From a novice player's perspective, however, it's very stressful because there are a lot of things to do within your own 60 minutes. For that reason, Brawlmachine appeals to me greatly. But I also see how competitive players are fine with 75 points / 60 minutes, especially to the extent it rewards regular practice and efficiency. Personally, I've put the entire issue behind me by investing in two squads of Kossite woodsmen, whom I plan to run purely as a tarpit and/or for scoring circular zones, and forcing my opponent to roll dice to kill them, while I more comfortably play my 55-point warjacks-and-friends list. Maybe I'm crazy, but it's more fun than getting clocked out.
