Hi there, I'm new to this forum. I have been on the PP forum before but since they removed the faction boards it isn't as useful as before :/ I'm a long time warmachine player, and my primary faction is Khador...I am and always will be a true son of the motherland =D... but I want to start a secondary faction, and I am considering Cygnar or Cryx. How does Cygnar play in the new Mk3 edition? Is it a better choice than Cryx perhaps? =)

"Better" all depends on what you're looking for. If you're a long time player, I won't go over the differences between Cryx and Cygnar, which are pretty significant. So what are you looking for in a new faction?

I'm looking for something differetn than Khador. And I just want to start something new, and I can't decide between Cryx and Cygnar. I already have my eye on the Grymkin hordes faction when they come out, because the fluff and the models are awesome =)

I guess Grymkin could be good as a secondary faction, but it brings to mind a friend of mine who'd been super-excited about Convergence when it first came out. He went all-in and has spent his time since then frustrated that CoC is a "limited-release faction" and never gets new models.
I think it's mostly about what flavor and playstyle you want. Grymkin and Cryx will be EEVIL and Cygnar is more generic good guy. I've found that Cygnar has a lot to keep track of in terms of which models are where.
I've got to get this firefly to within 5" of where the stormblades will charge to in order to give them the +2 lightning damage on their assault, and I need to make sure that the stormblades are close enough to their unit leader to give them this other +2. If I put positive charge on my marshalled Stormclad, I can get close enough on his charge to the firefly to get that +2, but then reposition him five inches due to the drive and get that positive charge in place for the stormblades. Then, there's ragman...
I don't know how much of that Cryx has, but in Cygnar, it can get complex quickly. If you're down for that, welcome aboard.

Cygnar used to be a balanced force with lots of shooting from jacks and infantry. Cygnar lists nowdays seems to be a lot of jacks in heavy metal theme, so not unlike some khador themes....
If you want something really different from khador, i would have looked at cryx/grymkin.

Sadly I tend to agree with Cain.
Sure, Khador and Cygnar are still very different, but the last months meta have pushed Cygnar heavily away from ranged game (that was seen as the enemy since the beginning of MK3 and bashed at every change, to the point that now its very hard to build around) toward Heavy Metal (and so jack spam).
That puts Cygnar a lot more close to Khador then it was before.
That said, I also think that you should go with whatever you like more style/fluff/model wise. If you decide for Cygnar we will be more than happy to help you make your first steps and try to find ways to play it in a way that feels Cygnar, but for sure with Cryx and Grymkin the difference would have been more deep and easy to perceive.
