paradoxIs this something you have actually played? Sounds like the control range is too small for such thibgs if the beasts has to activate first. Also... How many spirit doors do you expect to afford?

Play Grayle, LotF and Caul can still do massive work without Divine Inspiration (though Grayle will be perfect with it in his list). Storm Rager LotF does amazing work and threatens what feels like the entire board. I tend to like a Pureblood with Grayle for Wraithbane. I also recommend trying to fit Death Wolves, though it does make the list super tight on points. Wraithbane is indeed sweet for LotF and Caul occationally. What about the death wolves is it you like with Grayle though?

What about the death wolves is it you like with Grayle though? I like to put Death March on them for additional threat range and attacks with Vengence, making out of activation corpses possible. With feat and vengence, they can get anywhere they need to do some work and be difficult to remove if they have a couple corpses. MAT 9 is great. I try to keep Skoll alive for another late game Storm Rager target. Mostly, over Ravagers, they add some annoying models to the table that the opponent hates wasting quality attacks on and can do a lot of work. They typically can play a little further forward than Ravagers thanks to cannibal magic. Natural overtake is nice over the Ravager mini-feat. Again, I don’t think they’re always he right choice, but I find it better to have more tools in the list than less.

I know primal seems to be out-of-fashion but I still think Circle swears by it. Your list become able to deal with a hard target (ARM buffed Colossal) with Primal, without it you're a lot more vulnerable to it... And a Feral is a high output beast by itself with possible 12" of threat by itself. Wraithbane is way better than primal against arm buffed colossals, especially since you already get +2 MAT from Kaya by default. I agree that the feral is a nice beater though...
Was refering to the Grayle list.

Ah! I see. I think im gonna play Grayle now actually, but dropping the goat, gobber and unreleased blood shaman for a pureblood. Feral would be an option, but i can put wraithbane on my awesome warrior dudes and i just hate primal so damned much. I really WANT to play the feral more, cause i love the chassi as a beater, but i HATE primal so much...

So funny story...Grayle is actually really good, he just has been waiting for a decent infantry theme...which he has now

He seems to me like a very good stone knife in a drawer full of crappy titanium knifes. I don't put much faith in his feat so he really brings 2 melee centric upkeeps and a way to lose the game if he gets assassinated. Should he not be in the bottom of circle casters?

Im currently 4-0 with Grayle. He seems to work better in practice than one might think. Give him a spin if you do not believe me The feat is probably very high skill cap and has way more uses than one might think. I think a betyer player than me could be really deadly with Grayle.

I played him a few times in mk2. Never amounted to anything.
You are playing him in DH?

So, Grayle's feat can be used both offensively or defensively, I would use it defensively running up to just at the point where my opponent could get to within 6 inches, so cannot shoot other than sprays or aoes (which is dumb, you can't see me but go ahead and lob aoes in). Or you abuse your high def and try to get in close enough where your next turn you feat, and then overtake their entire army
