ravenfire: Into what mass-stealth / cloudwall list you think Jarl is preferred list? I think against cygner and Haley3 you want sturdier list. Not saying mist speaker is bad, just not sure if worth of Valka and one more scenario model.

It is not so much as what lists but I like the flexibility. With the speaker Jarl or the bomber can shoot anything with stealth or behind clouds. In my meta I usually see important stuff being hidden in that manner. Also it gives the bomber magical ranged attacks. Which is helpful for incorporeal stuff since the list uses the northkin elder.
Also the list sport a full krielstone unit as opposed to the min unit. Covering a bigger part of your models is easier that way, especially the ad units (bears).
I think it is a combination of my meta and play style.

I have been playing Jarl in SOTN for a while with a Glacier King. Personally I think SOTN is the way to play Jarl, as Pod only helps his fury the first round, while SOTN can keep the three upkeeps the entire game without putting a strain on jarl.
Jarl - Runebearer, Glacier King, Impaler Max Stone + Northkin 2x Bears, Max Champs+Skaldi, gobbers, Fell caller, Mist speaker.
This list has been very fun to play and has a lot of synergies that are not aparent from the get go. For starters, the inclusion of bears makes it so your oponent clumps up more, making your feat better and allowing more preferable magic bullets. The glacier king is a good target for the runebearer magic bullet and also protects the bears on the way forward outside of the feat.
Using the feat to charge the Glacier king through your champs or bears is also an unexpected vector of this army. With a threat of 13" and bulldoze, he can easily reach further than an oponent expects.
It is not the best list in trolls, but i really is not bad. I have played it into several high end players with and during tournaments it is undefeated (2 games only though). Biggest pro with the list is that it is a very fun list to play.

That sounds like a lot of fun I wanna play this, and I nèver use lists taken from the web. There's a trollkin solo that can cast clouds. I think the list should have one of those just in case you roll bad on the number of featclouds and you can't do the gargthing anymore

But the list sure is fun!

Quicken on champs is also pretty wonderful. Def 16 and a mighty SPD7(8 with stone) let’s them bully the table pretty hard.
Magic bullet GK is super cute. I like the idea of him and Jarl just peeling all the UA’s/solos off the table or just randomly killing a unit because 5+ potentially 5 more attacks is a thing.

I've found in my couple games with Jarl that magic bullet isn't as reliable for UA/Solo killing as I first expected. To be reliable, puppet master from Eilish or the Knot is pretty necessary.
The Knot's availability is one of the big draws to POD as a theme for Jarl.
I've been playing in SotN though and it has been fun.

The tankyness of solos has gone up, magic bullet is best for weapon attachments and some UAs. Btw, champs do not get def 16 from quicken, just def 14 against shooting and magic.

I haven't had 'tankiness' problems as much but even against Arm 12, magic bullets are dice even and only kill a 5 wound model 83.3% of the time. An arm 13 5 wound guy, something I don't consider particularly tanky, dies 72% of the time. It just feels dicey to get consistent kill work off of the spell.

You cant expect to kill two solos i guess, but Jarl can get off two Magic bullets and then it is way more reliable.

Yes, and in the sotn list you get three magic bullets a turn many on the times, as you dont need to pay for any upkeeps.

If you play Jarl in SotN it's a crime not to run Rök with him. Swift Hunter on Assault Sprays is nifty! Also consider Lanyssa for him and his beasts. She's a threat extender and fury management in one piece. Hi, how does Lanyssa do fury management? Is it that you just park her next to an overloaded beast as a Frenzy target ...?

Hunter's Mark lets a beast charge the target for free, so that's one less fury it has to generate.
