The one who just popped stone strength to kill something else. Or maybe they are playing Storm of the North. Or you do what I do with sevvy2 and pop the stone Also, the Pow 14 S&P sprays alone should wreck the unit. Dice off 4 with S&P does work. Its even more disgusting with Double S&P because you never have to boost and just wipe the unit with 2 sprays. All Ive faced is Mads1 BoH. The stone toughs all the time. The champs tough all the time, and pile wounds into the attached sorcerers, then get feated back to full. Never KDed under EG. Than sorry your opponent makes a lot of tough checks? You should be murdering champs with Judi sprays. Rockets finish the Job. Especially under HighReclaimer. If he’s passing around Damage it just makes it easier to clean up the unit with models like Gade, Errants, or Knights Exemplar. 2/3 games Sevvy2 Pops the Stone with the feat, along with solos like a fell caller, Skaldi, or Runebearer. The games where the feat doesn’t I settle for stripping fury by forcing a Premotion woth ashes to ashes. I don’t think madrack1 is the answer honestly.

If Tough vexes you, take some Daughters. Anatomical precision gives trolls fits.

You don't HAVE to play theme forces. Vindictus happily plays out of theme with both daughters/flame bringers and knights.

Thank you for keeping the conversation going. (autocorrect made conversation confession on the first attempt...) I didn't think Madrak1 sounded like a good solution, if you don't have the reps in against him he is definitely tilting, though. The one I wish would turn out to be great for this is Horgle2, I like him and he hasn't really found a competitive niche yet.

I'm convinces Kreoss 2 is best played in guardians Dew tell Ok so bear with me here. Basically I think Kreoss 2 brings 2 primary tools to the table: His feat, and Sacrosanct. Battle Charged and Castigate are nifty abilities as well, but won't come up every game so I don't think you want to build a list around it. His command area ability for tough for exemplar is cute, But 10" is..hard to fit in the units you want to bring in EI (Knights E and Errants) You know who gets tough an sacrosanct even while outside of his command? TFG. So the primary idea is to spam TFG units (2-3) and then fill out points with jacks and or Daughters/Flame Bringers depending on weather you skew towards killing dudes or dealing with sturdier targets. On feat turn Kreoss allows TFG and the like to swing attrition (although not into anything with arm skew but that can be fixed by salting in some heavies like FoS or a templar/sanctifier. The TFG are steady Tough and when you kill one of them you get KD leaving you vulnrable to retaliation and stopping effects like vengeance or cleave in their tracks making the TFG even more difficult to remove. (granted this does not work into warnouns but that's OK.) Ideally the list skews for scenario victory through jamming and contesting. Using the feat turn to swing attrition just enough to give you an edge on scenario, grinding the opponent down with a crapload of steady tough and good armor/defense. In addition one unit of TFG will be arm 22 on minifeat turn which is pretty hard to remove and on certain scenarios you can even send them in waves to get multiple uses of the minifeat plus IR combo. Here is the list I want to try some but don't own the models for: [Kreoss 2] Grand Exemplar Kreoss [+28] - Fire of Salvation [14] - Sanctifier [14] Nicia, Tear of Vengeance [0(5)] Pyrrhus, Flameguard Hero [0(5)] Vassal Mechanik [1] Wrack [1] Wrack [1] Choir of Menoth (min) [4] Daughters of the Flame [10] Flame Bringers (max) [17] Temple Flameguard (max) [11] - Temple Flameguard Officer & Standard [0(4)] Temple Flameguard (max) [11] - Temple Flameguard Officer & Standard [4] Temple Flameguard (max) [11] - Temple Flameguard Officer & Standard [4] So in this build you get 36 Steady Tough TFG, ambushing daughters to bottle up your opponent, Flame bringers for some feat turn murdering and high mobility pieces, and a decent BG. You could also skew to more arm cracking with the BG but I think that depends on preference. I expect this list plays well into guns, other infantry spam, and certain Jack builds with lower attack volume that are easily jammed out of scenario. (heck living circle you could probably just murder since warp-wolves are all low arm and TFG can hit the higher def with feat and CMA. Some cute interactions exist as well, particularly Pyrus being able to beat a model 3" away on feat turn fro fun and profit. Is it good? I honestly don't know...but I think its the best way to run Kreoss.

That list intrigues me...
I don't wanna buy two more units of TFG... But I kinda wanna buy two more units of TFG... The number of CMAs you could make on feat turn is terrifying.

IMO if you are going to go in with TFG, go all in! You start really challenging your opponent's volume of attacks once you get >50 (mostly) tough/no knockdown models.
I had fun proxying 6 max units once. I did not have enough fun to want more TFG.

a similar list to that was played on one of the various youtube battle report channels at some point during SR2017, although it used more daughters and flame bringers than TFG IIRC. I think Tim Banky played satyxis coven into it in the video. can't remember which youtube did it though, I don't think it was arcane assist.
I don't play protectorate so I have nothing else to add to the discussion but figured I'd drop that in here for anyone interested. will edit the post with the video if I find it again.
edit: found the video
