I really love the modell and uniqueness of him. Never played an caster like him and as i'm not in a competitve meta, want to play really casually.
The only thing that is rather set is Moros, as he is as cool as his bro. So do you guys have some 35 point lists, which work for him and help me to learn his tricks and strategies?
Thanks a lot!

Garryth is a really fun scare piece. Especially if you are bringing both mage Hunter assassins, Narn, and Eiryss. Moros is good at softening up living models for disposal, especially the paralysis effect. That will help your MHAs actually not miss on their charge.
So you have Eiryss take all focus/fury off of caster/lock, then advance/charge or shoot with Moros to make caster def 5 with paralysis. Then between the MHAs, Narn, and whatever else you bring it's pretty easy to get the assassination.
That's just one example, but there are many possible outcomes. Eapecially now that infiltrators can ambush! I know you asked for a 35 point list, but I only have 75 points ready.

While I've never played him I have been thinking of tech with him now that we have ambush. Being able to gallows something towards a table edge then charging in ambushed infiltrators could be fun. The list I was thinking of was :

Swap Hyperion for Helios and you could push them further towards the edge...

Swap Hyperion for Helios and you could push them further towards the edge... That's true, that would probably work. i like the idea of sentry on a pow 18 aoe 5 gun though. Probably worth trying both.

I've never tried Garryth, so I wont post a list, just some speculation.
I'm thinking he could do well in FoW. Battle mages and magisters to open up charge lanes, you can pick Sylys over the Fane Knight since all your jacks are shield guards, which might also make Lanyssa worthwhile. And all the upkeeps are on.

And all the upkeeps are on. garryth really doesn't need shield guards at DEF 17 and personal stealth, and even with sylys, if you run all your upkeeps that's basically turning you into a 3 focus caster except for turn 1. with a typically larger FoW battlegroup, he's gonna feel pretty focus starved, forcing you to spend more points on more arcanists (2 units and 3 solos is 20 points, that's a lot for focus support imo). not saying it doesn't work, I personally just don't see the synergy. running thyron in FoW I feel focus starved on turns where I want spellpiercer or want to load up my jacks, and he doesn't run 4 upkeeps. he's got more synergy with DoI. heightened reflexes on ryssovass = tough with no knockdown, powerful combo. mirage on a unit of SFA helps them get into RNG 12 so they don't have to use snipe and works well with reposition from the theme to let them play "hit and run" so to speak, or if you don't like/own ryssovass you can mirage your other melee infantry to get them up the board even faster (advance move+run+apparition on a unit of halberdiers/ellowuyr swords gives them 20" of movement before your 2nd turn). sentry on an AFG means more AFG shots, and more AFG shots is always good, or if you don't like/want AFGs you can pack a hyperion for a sentry starburst, a hydra for potentially a 2nd POW 15 shot each turn, an eiryss/ghost sniper/rifle team for a 2nd shot from them a turn, etc and so forth. seems like his best fit in terms of themes to me.

At 75 points I think you're absolutely right. At 35 points your battlegroup will be 3-4 jacks, so a (free) unit of arcanists should be enough.

Defenders of Ios is my favorite place to play Garryth. Lots of options for models and good targets for Sentry. The thing that I have found is that many of his abilities are a trap. You think you want to play him as aggressive assassin, but every time I try this he seems to get killed. I have much more luck keeping him on the mid line and using his guns to kill key models with boosted hand cannon shots.
