I imagine it is for protection to preserve the aura. Bloodgorgers would be hauling it toward the enemy and put her in harms way.

Vengeance on a (semi-)ranged unit is also quite nice: they can unjam themselves and have more opportunity to aim from the added range. No sleeping on the job is also very valuable when you have effective DEF 14 as opposed to 12.
I do agree that Bloodgorgers really like having Relentless Charge available and they are usually my first pick for Jussika.

Deneghra2 Black Industries vs Stryker2 Storm Division
Having been away for the game for quite some time, i was eager to get back in to testing and playing Deneghra2. Discussing the two possible match ups with my opponent (h3 diggers or S2 division) we settled on trying Stryker. His list couldn't suffer hellmouth shenanigans, and hits very hard in melee vs arm 17 slayers. Downside? Poor access to magic weapons.
The List:
Cryx Army - 75 / 75 points
[Theme] Black Industries
[Deneghra 2] Wraith Witch Deneghra [+28]
- Deathjack [23]
- Nightwretch [0(7)]
- Nightwretch [0(7)]
- Slayer [10]
- Slayer [10]
- Slayer [10]
- Slayer [10]
- Slayer [10]
Eilish Garrity, the Occultist [5]
Machine Wraith [2]
Soul Trapper [1]
Warwitch Siren [4]
Warwitch Siren [4]
Black Ogrun Ironmongers [6]
Cephalyx Overlords [8]
Deployment: Stryker went for a fairly symmetrical deployment. I deployed in a way that favoured the left hand side of the table (3 slayers + DJ) vs the 2 slayers on the right. My goal would be to break that flank while abusing the fact that a machine wraith, or feated model, would be very irritating to remove on the right
Cygnar Turn Round One
in a very shocking, surprising fashion stryker's list runs screaming straight forward at me. He gets Arcane Shield on the stormblades and gets Deceleration up. He's a little overly cautious on the left of Deathjack and stays a bit further back.
Cryx Turn Round One
For me this turn was just about starting his bleeding. Being the second player i was under no scenario pressure at all yet. Deathjack advances and boosts a breathstealer into the Stormblades. This is super crucial to ruin their charge distance (9" threat down to 7") and it makes their feat threat go from 14" down to 10". My right node then runs out and i breathstealer the right stormlances to hinder his feat, and then i send two Venoms into the unit of stormblades. Venom is incredible vs the kind of high arm single wounders that think they're better than Denny. one of the Venoms spikes and kills a blade, the other 4 i hit are corroded
Cygnar Turn Round Two
In a stroke of bad luck my opponent loses all 4 of his corroded stormblades, bringing the unit down to 3 members left. Using chargers he blows my arc node away and positions his army forwards. He really pushes hard in the middle and right its harder for me to attack. On the left he merely positions himself to try to retain control of the zone. his guns like laddermore's only do relatively minor damage, including a spiked leap hurting DJ
Cryx Turn Round Two
This turn was pretty big for me. i made a snap call that the fact the right lances were so far out of position to actually contribute to the fight i could push hard with my feat an end the stand off. Denny uses wraith walker. My ironmongers curse the firefly hiding behind the forest and DJ rather trivially executes it at MAT 10. he then sends two unboosted breathstealers out managing to land both to hit the left stormlances and the stormblades.
My jacks charge down the middle finishing off the blades (except for one guy hiding behind a building) and the stormblade captain. Then my node runs out and in range of the stormlances. I hellmouth one of the middle lances to drag them into a clump which lights one of the lances on fire. I feat and get 4 models (! worst case) and choose my arc node, death jack, and two slayers. I then cast Damnation on the middle one. My slayer goes in and ends two of the lances and puts another on 2 boxes
Nobody scores, but it leaves me in a pretty intimidating spot.
Cygnar Turn Round Three
My opponents stormlance dies to fire, causing another to promote, which takes away its combat action for that turn (ouch). Stryker puts out positive charge, and tries to fight a slayer with a really nice 2 dice overload (9 STR but only 4 damage). he fails due to rolling a lot of 4s to hit (ouch) and uses Velocity to get some distance. Between his charger melee, laddermore and the one lance with a combat action he kills one slayer an leaves the other on one box. He fails to clear the right zone with his charger taking a magic shot at the machine wraith in cover. His stormlances just bolt around the side to try to converge on Denny
Cryx Turn Round Three
I execute my plan to end stryker. my jack walks off to die but Carapace prevents the free strike from laddermore from killing him (NANI!?) and he kills a stormlance with his crippled arms even though hes -1d6. lol. My arc node goes on a sprint behind laddermore and the charger and denny walks up with puppetmaster, casting out Hellmouth on laddermore. This drags stryker in. i then cast Damnation on stryker, now with a back arc thanks to the hellmouth drag.
After receiving Damnation the cloud and forest is no longer a problem. Stryker dies a horrific death by Deathjack after i clear the way (i nearly made a mistake, i assumed it was a regular stormlance blocking and it was laddermore who got to dismount and keep blocking my lane. Thankfully multiple slayers fixed that).
Victory to Cryx!
Quite a fun game, i had imagined this match up was scarier than it turned out to be. Breathstealer is just a really really strong spell when combined with Damnation and Hellmouth to manipulate threat ranges all over the place. It was pretty poor for my opponent he didn't have a source of magic weapons, but considering how the turn looked when i feated it would have been fairly irrelevant even if he had a whole unit source like Aiyana. The best target for that would've been the right stormlances, but they were too far out of position to change the course of the game (and i would have positioned around them a little bit better)
Denny2 continues to impress

Welcome back! Nice to see another write up from you! Good game and nice use of all your different pieces. I’ve been preparing for an event, so no new lists for me, but I think when that is over I am going to have to look seriously at Denny2 again.
