This is hugely disappointing! And it seems they will not even finish this years suscriptions? So far we got 6 magazines, with a bimonthly release that means 12 months, or a full year, of issues. So, they have finished the current year, so it's the "perfect" time to discontinue it.

I never subscribed to NQ. I didn't really see the appeal or the point. But I understand that many people did enjoy the content.
This does feel like a cost cutting exercise. But digital is how the world is these days and most other game companies produce most of their content digitally.
There are some on other forums who are saying that this is more evidence that PP is dying and that WM/H is a "dead game". I don't think this is the case, but I am concerned about PP's community engagement at this point and going forward. They have really increased their social media presence and youtube videos. But I'm not sure that is translating into new players. The feeling outside of the WM/H groups is that our game is dead. We need to turn that around.

But I'm not sure that is translating into new players. Many years ago I was browsing the magazine racks at the Orc's Nest when I came across No Quarter. I didn't know what it was but picked it up out of curiousity - it was more attractive than most of the other gaming magazines on display. I read through it, and even though I didn't understand the battle report (Menoth vs Legion I believe) it still seemed really cool and exciting, and got me interested in the game. So yeah, you might have a point: having a physical magazine where other gamers can see it can help increase awareness and exposure to the game. The way things are now PP doesn't seem to be doing much to bring in new players?

To me it seems like the strategy forwards is to focus on the new yearly faction and new games like monsterappocalypse etc. It's something I've wondered for a while now; who are these new factions aimed at? To a new player having 12 factions or 15 factions to choose from is all of a muchness. I'd also imagine that the majority of players only play one faction, so the fact that there are new ones probably doesn't matter much to them (I may be extrapolating from myself in that example; I'd rather try an entirely new game than try a new faction). In that regard it puts me in mind of the mobile gaming scene, where developers have been known to focus on 'whales'; people who spend large sums of money on microtransactions. There was a Forbes article a couple of years ago that showed that 50% of mobile gaming revenue came from 0.2% of the players. I'm wondering if PP are doing something similar; aiming their efforts at the smaller subset of players who will always buy the new hotness, or completionists who will always want to have all their faction models available to them? No real evidence for it either way, just something that's been bugging me. But separately, I hope that Monsterpocalypse and Riot Quest really take off. I'd much rather see PP diversify than risk it all on one flagship product, but it does feel like they're trimming themselves down to the bare minimum here.

I've said it before, but it's an ironic move for a company called Privateer *Press*. I've got the first couple dozen issues (would have to look), right back to the beginning, but I admittedly never subscribed. I'm still sad to see it go.
I agree the physical presence of a paper mag does shout "hey look at me" (and the issues were indeed very cool), whereas digital content that one seeks/ pulls offline isn't the same thing. Part of my initial love of the company was that it was driven by amazing artists and authors. I remain hopeful that this will continue.

Man, I own every single NQ from issue 1, long ago, to the last one. I'm sad to see it go, but it had a great run!

I liked NQP. I would have renewed my subscription. I probably won't get the digital version because I'm a grumpy old man and I don't like reading magazines off my tablet.
But, print is a dying medium, editors are expensive and I doubt NQP was even revenue-neutral. Goodnight sweet Prince.

I have every issue of NQ, regardless of iteration. I'll miss it. I've tried reading on tablets and I despise it. Sad to see it go. The slipping away of fundamental aspects of the game does give me pause and seems a cause for concern. It's clearly not a "dead game", but I do wonder sometimes how close the twilight really is.

Boooooo! Sad to see the physical copy go. I'm not the biggest fan of digital magazines. Not sure if Wyrd is still doing their "Chronicles" but that was decent when I was still reading it.

Now that No Quarter is dead, I should probably pick up the issues that have nice RPG material in them. I prefer print over any kind of future digital option.
Which issues had information relating to Cyriss characters in them? I thought they published how to make one for the new RPG.
What other good material is present for the RPG?

Other than that, the most important things that come to mind are the Rhulic rules and the Legion rules. Anyway, most NQ from around 45 to 60 have very interesting articles, all adding something (a little bit of extra equipment, a few new class variants, some new alchemical items, some new runes, or even some adventures or little encounters to help the GM in case he is out of ideas).

People have been saying that for years and years. Anytime PP drops something the make someone talks about how it's in prep to sell the company.

Don't know if they're trying to sell the company or not but with the game seemingly in decline in most places it seems likely they aren't doing so hot on the profits these days. I think 40K 8th Edition really kicked them in the shorts.
