Oh Crap....I had a horrible realization. Since AKs are a Gimmicky Unit designed to counter a singular other unit in the game (Trencher Infantry)...What if their UA is just something to "Mirror" the Trencher UA. We all know how PP loves stupid Gimmicks. Also man do the weapon attachments need a Cost Drop. Its Acceptable for the Rocketeer since thats a very powerful weapon. But 2 Points is not worth it for an 8 inch fire spray. D-d-don't d-d-devalue continuous effect sprays...

Gawd, I hope the UA grants some kind of damage buff. It ticks me off that 'Assault Kommandos' are- statistically- primarily defensive rather than offensive.
And since I broke down and bought a box of metal AKs a few months ago, they will almost certainly be rendered obsolete by a superior new sculpt...

D-d-don't d-d-devalue continuous effect sprays... Did I miss a Joke or something? Anyway I think a big part of it is the loss of Take-up. Im FINE with the Rocketeers not giving it. But that rule I think disappeared entirely except for standard bearers. And I know that the Flamethrower didn't have it before but they had a neat explosion effect, and at least you could throw em like bombs if need be.

I mean, if they do decide to try to parallel them, one interesting way to do so would be to give them mini-feat: Dig In. move up, shield guard and minifeat makes them pretty dang hard to take down. Then the unit is set up to get good charges, or your opponent is leaving a pretty wide area where they aren't touching the scenario.

The Iron Fang Pikemen (And the Black Fang Pikemen) already have similar deals. The AKS can survive the apocalypse, the question is what the heck do they actually DO that our other units can't do better and for cheaper.

Man, armor piercing rounds minifeat would be so good.

How about minifeat Hunter and Grevious Wounds?
They are supposed to be trencher killers, so how about making them good at it?

Yeah that always bugged me, they are suppose to be good against trenchers, but trenchers outthreat them in melee and the kommandoes don't have anything to deal with cover, which is the trenchers defensive schtick... I'd be ok with tactic: Hunter now that would allow them to go after some stuff and differentiate from our other shooting units.

To be honest, I would like to see something with corrosion. I think that would be kind of cool. They deal with trenchers with fire sprays and assault, so I'd like to see something a little different!

Wait I think the AK Officer and Gunner means that the AKs get to go through CID!
YES. They really need to go through cid. Their design is just confused and crap.

I'm telling you, give them poison rounds mini-feat (effectively anamotical precision) and Granted: Prey.

Thematic wise I can see them being a force with MoW's trouble is they suck like quick drying cement with no warning sign. They would need advance deploy for scenarios the MoW and Ak need a purpose.
This would be a good force with rough terrain and pathfinder I think.

It's actually quite likely that AKs are getting a theme book (probably with a lot of expansion in model selection, or at least another unit and a support solo) because their model entry is absent from Khador Command, much like ManOWars, Doom Reavers, Greylords, and Winter Guard models. As for the UA, I think Granted: AD and Tactics: Hunter doesn't sound like a bad place to start.

Well if they come out with an AK book then maybe the gunner could be a squad support weapon? I would like to see AKs get some love like Winter Guard get, maybe a weapon crew or a Jack that AKs can support, like a Grenadier and such. Since AKs are suppose to be out premier assault type infantry. It would be very cool if they had a nice range of toys to play with.
