Base DEF 13 + 2 from Bulwark + 2* Ashen Veil, Steady, Decel for +2 ARM vs Ranged & Magic, Feat for +4 ARM.
I'm wondering if it's actually a good idea or if it's just more cute than anything else. Which theme would be best? Exemplar Interdiction would let the P+S 13 (15,16) Blessed Chain weapons do great things. A Warder with Durst makes him even tougher to kill along with the many sources of Ashen Veil. Creator's Might still allows the Warder and you gain more free points along with Reposition on solos and Choir but no Blessed or +2" Deployment.
Just rolling ideas around right now. Has anyone considered trying to see if this could work?

It's an interesting idea, and I'm trying to figure out a list. Problem I'm having is Bulwark's requirement that the models be in B2B. With Purifiers not hitting especially hard, I'd want at least one heavy (which Bulwark makes 2 heavies), but Purifiers outpace nearly every heavy in Menoth.
So overall it's a difficult problem to solve.
That said, I do think it'd be best in Exemplar Interdiction, both for the Blessed weapons on the Purifiers and the extra 2" deployment, which Durst really wants.

Aaaaand right after saying all that, I came up with something to try.
Durst +28 Hierophant 3 Purifier x4 32 Sanctifier x2 28 Wrack 1 Vassal Mechanik 1 Vassal of Menoth x2 6 Exemplar Warder 0 max Choir 6 Knights Exemplar 9 UA 4 Knights Exemplar 9 UA 4
Idea is that the Purifiers and Sanctifiers run B2B in a line in front of the Knights, blocking LoS. Purifiers are (as stated in original post) DEF17 ARM18 at range, Sanctifiers are DEF14 ARM21. Jacks serve as the front line, using the feat to ensure they make it to combat and/or survive first round of combat, then Knights come in after to clean up.
I'm concerned about scenario, as I always am with Durst. Any scenario that forces you to spread out is a big issue, as are jamming infantry. That said, it'd be interesting to try.

Maybe Guardians instead of the sanctifiers? with the purifiers nearby you'll still benefit from ashen veil, and you can add Set Defense on top of that

With the entire rest of the list being SPD5, don't really want the heavies to be SPD4. edit: plus, the Sanctifiers can be self-fueling if/when the Knights start dropping. Which is a big benefit when Durst is so focus-strapped.

I have a similar list with 2x Purifier, FoS and 60 points of infantry as damage dealers and for all the free stuff. I still consider taking Sevy 0, because he is hard to protect and his jack does not get many buffs.

I wanted to try it out in FM (theme benefits are nice) but I think the new EI has a lot of pros, namely warder, Sev0 and FoS. CM isn't so great because Durst actually needs some infantry and doesn't run a heap of jacks all that well. Sev0+boundless charge can get a jack surprisingly deep into enemy lines (something I like with Rezzie2). FM still has some pros of course, namely nice solos, idrians, deliverers and sunbursts, which is great for unjamming your jackwall.

Sevvy0 in EI with 2 repenters under durst is a surprisingly wonderful boat of infantry hate. Rat 6 (8 if you aim thanks to road to war) Pow 15, Blessed Flamethrowers of doom. Even better with double cinerators
