This is not a criticism, I have never seen the model. The Riphorns blades don't go into his hands like he's holding them? They just connect to the back of them?

Ah, i get what you mean, but the blades are attached to the gauntlets, rather than him holding them. It looks strange in the pic, but it is how the model is, not something i have made myself

Finally an update! First unit of Ravagers finished The painting quality is not the best ever, but im pretty happy with how the colors work together. The other unit is partly done and will have inverted colors on the cloth, so more turquoise and less green. I might go back and add blood to the weapons (like the Bloodweaver) but ill probably do it to both units at once then

Interesting choice of colours, I think they look good. Adding blood on the weapons sounds like it could be a nice touch.

Im happy with the "night elf"-feel of the models and i really liie the dark green contrast with both the leather ane skin. Im sad to say that im sinply not as good at oainting as a were in 2012 when i started Warmachine. I sinply do not have the time and inclination to spend fifty hours painting a unit nowadays lol. I think i have managed to "cheat" pretty well though π

Is the ravager skin the same color recipe as the druid skin from page 1? There's more variation but I thought that might just be because you chose not to apply the druchii violet as evenly.
Second question: the darkest recesses of the skin, are those just druchii violet again or something else mixed in? I have tended towards super-saturated skin tones, but this interests me.

Second question: the darkest recesses of the skin, are those just druchii violet again or something else mixed in? I have tended towards super-saturated skin tones, but this interests me. It is sort of the same recipe... I base coat with white in both cases. i do not do like 8 coats though so it is not a pure white. Then i add Druchii violet. That part is the same. The ravagers though are much bigger and have flat surfaces that look pretty uneven with just a dark wash over white, so i re-highlighted them a bit. Instead of pure white i used a very light pink i had. I will not do this the next time. The pink contained a bit of yellow and i wanted a slightly colder hue. Then i washed again with Druchii violet. Oh, and i added a bit of drying retardant to the druchii violet for the ravagers so it should have time to settle in the recesses. I guess this together with the fact that there are two leayers is what makes the darkest parts so dark on the ravagers. The druids were just one coat over white. I think the hue on the druids is what i strive for in general.

I have fallen in love with P3 frostbite for most highlighting purposes. I think I will try your technique, though, as I like the result and think it would look good on trollbloods.

I have fallen in love with P3 frostbite for lost highlighting purposes. I'm not sure what you mean by "lost highlighting"?

Those Tharn are colorful! The bases are a neat contrast, too - both in color and in the fact that their prettiness exaggerates the ugly vicious Tharn themselves.
