So what does everyone think SR 2018, being even more live than SR 2017 will do to the Cryx meta? Will it force certain of our boogeymen out? Will it make Gaspy 3 Slayers less viable, as he will have a hard time scoring on Mirage? Will Coven or Scaverous come back in vogue as our control casters?
Small units such as Overlords or Black Ogrun Iron Mongers as well as cheap solos such as Soul Trappers and Machine Wraiths will definitely be useful to us, perhaps even more so than before.
Almost always having an objective available might also be useful for the Skarres or for adding magical weapons to themes that need it like Dark Host. Pathfinder in a non-Asphyxious Black Industries will also be useful.
For reference, the scenarios in the packet:
So, only The Pit II is a (relative) snooze fest, with Mirage and Spread the Net (still) being very live. The other 3 are somewhere in the middle, but it seems to me that it will definitely pay to have multiple ways of scoring each element in your lists.
Casters like Krueger, Harbinger, Haley and Magnus 2 will be extremely strong on some of these, either by controlling you out of scenario or making it impossible to remove contesting models.

- Mirage: 2 round zones, 2 objectives and 3! flags. This scenario is the most live of them all and with a possible 5 points scored in a single turn, both players will need to be aggressive and careful not to suddenly lose. Is basically a combination of Outlast and the old Incursion
- Invasion: a more live version of Breakdown, with the middle rectangular zone flipped to a vertical position and added objectives.
- Standoff: unchanged from previous editions, but was already quite live, with multiple scoring elements scattered around the table.
- Spread the Net: as Standoff, but more live with flags instead of objectives and more spread out so harder to contest. No objectives at all in this scenario
- The Pit II: also unchanged, least live of the scenarios and the objective is off to the side, so harder to leverage the bonus.
- Recon II: only change here is that the flags are moved to the inside corners of the rectangular zones, this makes the scenario promote more aggressiveness if you want to score your opponent's flag as now the objective contests it.
