An idea had been floating around in my head for a while, how to use Sons of Tempest in a not so obvious way... And yesterday I think I got a step closer to my goal. I recently picked up a hurricane and it needed some testing out, and I also got my second arcane rifleman. So obviously, I was going to run both of these in a list and build the rest around it. I settled on a Stryker 1 list because Stryker likes arc nodes, hurricane looks like I wants snipe or arcane shield, and gun mages like blur. As it turns out, the hurricane isn't the some arcnode Stryker wants for placement reasons, but it's still good. What I really enjoyed however, was the solos. 2 of each adepts and riflemen felt really good to play.
Then there were the standard gun mages.
I was super happy with pistoleer. Making them weaponmasters really pumps them up. Only on gunfighter attacks meaning to charge bonus also oddly seemed to help. Help in the sense that I was not just looking for charge lanes to open for me, I spent my time instead just shooting at the enemy and making him come to me. Strykers feat kept them safe from blast damage, and blur kept them safe from shooting. When the enemy did close in, they did some work, even getting a critical brutal thrown in there once.
I think my approach with the next sons list will be just a unit of mages, the 4 solos (and Falk,I need to find a Falk) and the rest be jacks.
What useful things have you found for your son's lists?

I ran a SotT list with Haley1 and was disappointed.
Haley1 Squire Avenger Thorn Arcane Tempest Gun Mages Arcane Tempest Gun Mages Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Officer Cyclone Black 13th Gun Mage Strike Force! Bastian Falk Ragman Gun Mage Captain Adept Gun Mage Captain Adept Journeyman Warcaster Charger
The plan was for the gun mages to get up close and personal with deadeye and ragman for Haley's feat, giving each of them two boosted POW12s, and the first one had a good chance for the crit brutal. Instead, they were mostly shot out by a galleon at long range. Granted, they didn't have blur. 2d3 AoE attacks from a sniped galleon makes infantry unhappy. I should really re-constitute this list with Caine1 in order to get use out of blur.

Given the gunmages profile and stats, I think Haley3 is the best choice given the +2 def bubble and the revive option she offers. But ATM I'm fine with my kraye Sons and I do not wish to dive into the haley3 mechanics
