How do y'all feel about CoC being taken out of the CID rotation? Some are calling foul, others are being optimistic.. I even saw a post on the Facebook group that said the Mercs (Pirates i think) got taken out too and that Pagani basically said they were overwhelmed and bit off more than they could chew.

I'm sure that they'll be back in the rotation. I'd rather it was done right than rushed.

Though others have been saying that the models and ideas have been 'ready to go' for years and that this blow is another indication we are 10th down the list of things PP wants to work on. We all remember the debacle when they said our book was cut..

I am very disappointed. How much work can it be?? CID is 90% the playerbase doing the work anyway...
I am dying to play the other cool half of the faction (ie CL theme with all the units), but it's just not fun OR good with the current rules.
Guess I'll jump faction once I get tired of playing Locke.

I never expected us to get a CID. We're the baby of a guy who left PP. Without his push we get no attention and no love. The saving grace was the creation of other limited release factions. Because there are other LR factions, ones that PP cares about, PP has to give us some attention from time to time too. Otherwise it's a blatent middle finger to the CoC.

I mean....they were pretty clear limited release factions weren't going to get the same level of support.

I was mor surprised that they actually had one planned rather than that it was cancelled.

So my mission has become clear... offer up my services to PP as the dude specifically in charge of CoC and Cephalyx! Clearly they will say yes, and then we're back in business!

This is why i hate limited release factions with the fury of ten thousand suns. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of them. But it doesn't matter what game (I'm somehow unsurprised this opinion comes from someone with L5R art for their thumbnail because the attitude was rife in that game too) when you add some minor faction to the game, be it for story purposes or just a short spurt of creativity, no matter how clear you are that its not a permanent thing, not going to get the same level of support or that its its own thing not like the core groups in the game you'll end up with people who plant their flag in that faction and act like the lessened attention is some sort of personal affront.

I get that mcdermott and that is completely fair in my opinion, but: When I bought into Convergence at the end of mk2, I didn't do it for the TEP and some minor other stuff, I did it for the faction as a whole. Loved the combined arms Lucant list you could make, the recursion was good and fun to play, Lucant was amazing back then, Axis and all his 50 dudes was fantastic. Where is all of that now?? The CL Theme sucks and does not bring back the feel a Convergence army had in mk2, since recursion is way worse and the theme benefits are meh. All I ask for is a short 1-2 week CID to correct that. Get the Convergence units on the table. It's more fun to play varied lists instead of DI + DI and some more DI, and I guess it's way more fun for the opponent as well, so they don't have to face the TEP yet aaaaaaaagain. (yes, people sigh very often when they see them across the table) Look at Grymkin. They are also a limited faction, but it works way better. Both themes are playable and most of the beasts and units are really good. Better rules, better design. I guess they looked at the sales report for Convergence models (which I assume is very low) and decided to let them die in peace.

Hey also out of curiosity... what was the name of the guy who left? And was he also responsible for Cephalyx?

I'd hardly call getting 2 casters (+Alt history caster) in the last year to be no love... Its way better than caphelyx have gotten if nothing else

It doesn't matter what your best "thing" in a wargame is, people are going to sigh heavily when they see it across from them, and they're going to when you aim for competitive play. I get being mad because you don't feel like it "works" but its a risk you take with a limited faction. Limited faction means limited time dedicated to tinkering with it. If people can't understand and accept that, they shouldn't get involved with limited factions because the end result is crapping up the community with complaints about things you were warned ahead of time may be issues.
