I am so ok with all of this. Now I can actually use Moneyshot and Deadeye. Hopefully Nick's tough bubble is expanded or something. I'd love to use him again, and with gaining access to reveille, it'd make sense.

Really hope they'll get a pure steelhead theme as part of this (kingmakers is nice and all, but it's not that). I figure like most CIDs there'll be a few other models beyond what we see here. Making them non-character like the steelhead arcanist is a great way to lead us away from irregulars where he can't be taken. Definitely is going to give new life to the Bart/Magnus Kingmaker builds.
Also, between pirate CID buffing those jacks and steelhead CID likely taking a look at the mule and rocinante, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a fully re-evaluated jack stable by the end of this. Slightly worried that'll result in 12pt nomads though given the Toro complaints.

So, is this update in addition to the Pirate CID or instead of? My connection dropped right before they started talking about this. It just has me confused haha.

Outside of The cav and Maybe rifles, is there anything steelhead that needs a big buff?
The organ gun looks odd. Close tang artillery seems like a bad idea.

Well Nick is a little niche and Brocker's so so but even beyond that Mrs. Lincoln how did you enjoy the theater?

IS this a steelhead CID, or a 12 models of christmas style update? Seems a bit small for a full CID for 1 solo and 3 related weapons crews.
Agree the mule & Rocinante would make sense in the pirates CID though.
Also, pretty sure kingmakers is the steelhead theme. Not sure what else they could do with it (other than perhaps open it to some more casters, not that others would suit it that well)

Steelheads really could use another steelhead specific caster to be their own theme.

It's worth noting this phrasing of the youtube description: "The Fires of War showcases an in-world peek into future models and Theme Force releases for WARMACHINE and HORDES."
"...and theme force releases" strongly implies one of the previews is a new theme. If so, neither tharn or exalted are, so it's got to be steelheads. The narration in the steelhead preview section talks about steelhead chapters as a discrete army. I really think we're getting a steelhead theme.
With tactician and boosted rolls, that volley gun should be pretty good at unjamming your own lines, which seems odd for a gun that should be wreaking havoc on everything in the area

Well, if they go according to pattern, new models mean CID, which means potentially a new Theme surrounding what is in CID.
I know people have been bemoaning the lack of Privateer work, but in terms of size of the faction, Steelhead and Cephalyx are the smallest. One of the bonuses of the Steelheads is that they tend to work well with others, and easily inserted into more Themes.
That doesn't mean the Privateers can't use a good balancing CID, but there are a lot of sections and subsections which need balancing as well.

Finally! Now if Cavalry get a bump and there's some kind of CA or WA I'm definitely pegging Steelheads as my second army. Of the artillery I like the Cannon the best by far because of how anti-infantry Steelheads are currently.
