wait wut? So how do they decide what is and what isn't? My guess would be market research and years of sales data.

Yep. What makes the CG huge bases different from Trollbloods, Minions or Khador?

so basically, they are already straying from BAHI after forcing a hand-full of factions to order huge bases from it.
At least they are learning I guess.

They always said it was only going to be some of the huge bases. Then there was a run of releases in a row where they were all BAHI. As the train-tanks are pretty central to the marketing/concept of the crucible guard it makes sense to take on a lower margin to make them more broadly available. It really helps that they can expect a significant number of Crucible Guard players to buy more than one railless interceptor and Mackay (which should share some part molds). There's an argument that all the BAHI releases serve much smaller markets (single theme niche pieces, etc); they're certainly not making them the center of a business cycle. It'd be nice to know where the line will be drawn down the road though.

I do feel like Casters, and things as Iconic to a theme as the Hooch hauler are more than Niche pieces, but I do understand the marketing arguments. Especially considering the BE is basically a core unit for the faction. I am wondering if this is the only exception though, and if in general all future Huge bases will continue to be BAHI.

I doubt it'll be all, the same situation that gave us the non BAHI CG models could easily arise with the future limited factions. Anything for the main factions seems like it would probably be rarer? "Cygnar gets a 3rd colossal" would probably be a big enough market for non BAHI treatment so I still don't think it'll be a total proscription for main factions

It's unlikely to be an exception, they always said that BAHI wouldn't be everything. It just happens that so far it has, probably because they wanted to show off what they could do with it. I would expect that any huge bases that can reasonably be cast in the cheaper plastic models or are likely to be bought in higher volume will be normal release.

probably because they wanted to show off what they could do with it. Which was what? Because all I saw them do was piss off everybody.
