What are the best melee jacks in Cygnar? Coming from Menoth it is basically all I have to choose from but feel Cygnar has a bunch of good gun jacks. If I were trying to leverage stryker 2's feat really hard in heavy metal, where would I start?

Old rowdy and Stryker 2 are best buds. Stormclad has good reach and a super powerful sword with e leaps.

Because of the number of attacks afforded by a unit of six stormblades compared to a single jack that might cost the same points, I'd recommend stormblade infantry (at least six POW15s) over a single heavy that might give you one POW18. The trick with stormblades is often just keeping them alive. Personally, I like to stack a single round of arcane shield with Iron Zeal to bring them up to ARM21 for a round. That usually gets them delivered.
But so as to not completely dodge your question, the best two pure (cheap) melee jacks are the ironclad and hammersmith, and they both have different functions. The ironclad can be a hit fixer with its knockdown, and the hammersmith has movement shenanigans with its beat back and chain attack slam.
For myself, I like to run a lancer with Stryker2 to leverage the arc node to land rebuke, and Ol' Rowdy (a character ironclad) to keep Stryker safe in melee. When you get Stryker2 into melee with enemy troops who can't boost and get Rowdy B2B with him, Stryker2 is suddenly DEF 18 vs melee and DEF 20 vs shooting due to the in-melee bonus. Throw arcane shield on him and he's ARM19 to boot.

Cygnar Jacks in Heaviest hitting order... per me Colossals (not included)
Stormclad Ol' Rowdy Hammersmith Centurion Ironclad Defender/Reliant/Avenger(almost forgot it existed but it hits hard enough) Thunderhead (cost is a big part of this) Thorn/Lancers Minuteman other lights that aren't really for melee but supposedly have a melee weapon
I get Gmonkey's point, Stryker 2 likes more bodies than HM typically will net him for the feat turn so it's not his strongest theme. If you are doing HM with him, I would auto-include Ol'Rowdy and a lancer as your starting point.

Kraye turns HM into some amazing "I mess with you" shenanigans that is really good at turning a flank because everything is so fast. Even your solos get repo 3 in it. just be sure to take some mechanics for some point scoring late game.

I never use more than 3 centurions with Kraye, and I also like Kraye in Sons as they provide good units and solos that all help deliver the feat.
Remember, Centurion tramples forward for 7", then Repo 5" for a 12" move 1st and maybe 2nd turn, always save a Focus for Polarity Field if there is a remote chance they can be charged.
No Jack is too slow with Kraye, he likes Hammersmiths as well!

I mean, Rowdy is there so clearly you're not excluding character jacks. Yeahyeah, themes mean no love for Gallent. Makes me sad is all.

I got him right before themes dropped and have never used him. So sad. As for Trample and Repo it does work. Trample is not a failed charge or a run action.

I thought a trample was a charge or some such.

yeah... I don't even own Gallant as I was lucky enough to not pull Xadmar's mistake... and trample is not a failed charge or a run so, YAY! Hammersmith and Centurion love it... avenger would as well I guess but I only just acquired one and have not yet run it so... not sure if it cares that much.
