Alternate history rules for vinter have been released on war room!
He is basically a war caster role, but gets no spells or feat and 3 pseudo focus to buy / boost attacks. Jacks in 10” get 1 focus. not sure if they get power up as well? I assume they are part of his battle group? No warjack points though.
He is a beast in melee, though I don’t think much better than characters like butcher. Personally not good enough to lose feat, spells, ~30 wjp and only 3 focus for himself.

Thinking he is lacking something especially in a feat. He almost wants a feat level effect every turn, like a passive cmd (10”) aura that gives tough and no kd to friendly models. He was after all a powerful general and inspirational psychopath who could compel his men to keep fighting through force of personal will

Yeah, I think with some tweaking to bring some of his lacking areas up to par, he could be a really fun and interesting way to play the game. That or just give us Magnus still in Cygnar instead and call it a day.

That or just give us Magnus still in Cygnar instead and call it a day. When Mk3 first came out, Magnus2's mercenary rule said he could work for Cygnar. I thought it made sense given where fluff was heading, but they 'fixed' it soon after. Magnus3 would nearly definitely be partisan.

Oh for sure he's got to be, now that fluff-wise he's back. I meant in this alternate timeline, he'd have never left, so him and Stryker 1 could just switch places.

Hell no. Cygnar needs a king that governs the nation and make it better, rather than ruins everythings from the root. That's why he is dead for good in the reality.
Anyway, he seems pointless for he costs a warcaster slot. His buff is only a Power Up efdect but he can't bring that much warjacks. Unless he is followed by Magnus -1, I don't think that he is worth a penny.

Funny thing. I'm reading Blood of Kings, and I just coincidentally read the section with Vinter fighting today. The model's rules represent him pretty accurately.
