Haven't played Kreoss2 or any of the heavies recently, but wouldn't using them as a vanguard lock you of scenario since they're too slow? As for the dice math, personally, I go by the rule of thumb that the enemy will always make their 50/50 rolls and I will always fail them. Might be a little too conservative, but I'd rather overkill than come up short. I think desperate pace will be key to addressing the speed issues. You'd be able to get a unit with shield wall over the half-way line on the top of 2. I've just always felt Kreoss2 in mk3 leaned towards a brick rather than small base spam, and cinerators will finally be capable at the front of it. Some of our other casters great in EI are probably better spamming errants and knights.

Have to play Trolls till tournament couple of weeks, but definitely want to test Durst with exemplar Warder. DEF17 ARM18/20 steady caster just sound too god for me (As I play mostly Borkas on trolls and love casters that can be frontline).

Week 2 Kreoss2! Don't know what to do with a brick yet, but a bunch of knights looks fun.

I would imagine that tactician is such big draw that he could indeed be taken with some lists without bastions. Probably more necessary for medium base spam. Perhaps it could be dropped as well as the errant senny for a 9 point something, rhoven/vigilant/devout?

Protectorate Army - 75 / 75 points [Theme] Exemplar Interdiction
(Kreoss 2) Grand Exemplar Kreoss [+28] - Crusader [10] - Indictor [15] - Reckoner [16] Rupert Corvolo Piper of Ord [4] Knights Exemplar Seneschal [0(5)] Knights Exemplar Seneschal [0(5)] Choir of Menoth (max) [6] Exemplar Errants (max) [16] - Exemplar Errant Officer & Standard [4] Knights Exemplar [9] - Knights Exemplar Officer [5] Knights Exemplar [9] Knights Exemplar [9]
Here's my first list for CiD I'm going to just test Kreoss2 without using the other CiD models. I just want to test what Kreoss2 improves.
Edit***/Battle Report Game vs Butcher 3
SR scenario (9) 3 flags across the mid line.
Opponents List: Butcher 3 Ruin, Grouler, Eager 2x Forgelord Behemoth, Decimator Widowmakers That rouge inquisitor with chain lightning.
He went first. Turn 1 just moving. I ran my KEE up making a 2 layer line in between middle and right flags (from my POV).
Turn 2: 2 Errants die to behemoth shooting and 3 KE die to widowmakers
Butcher or one of the jacks scores a point on the middle flag.
To be continued**
Turn 3: Butcher and Co have moved up and strongly control the middle flag, Kreoss is sitting behind a wall, 7" back from the middle flag with both jacks on the end of the wall and my middle unit of KE sitting Infront of the wall, KEE are moving in to Jam Butcher, Right Hand KE are contesting Behemoth from the flag, left KE (with the officer) are sitting back preventing/discouraging the widowmakers moving up onto the flag.
Butcher's Argus charges into the KEE and gets counter charged by the reckoner. This bait's butcher 3 into charging into the KEE and Reconker. I had IR up on the KEE so he couldn't impending doom them he destroys 2 KEE and the Reckoner. He Feats and Camps 6 focus. 2 points to 0.
He ended up over extending Butcher, the extra movement from Battle-Charged really helped out here. I feat on my turn after him allowing the Crusader to walk into melee, good dice rolls allows me to put butcher down.
Overall this has been the first time in 3 games I've been able to beat Butcher 3, I've enjoyed the changes, Tough on Exemplars is very very nice, I really need Gravus for in theme no knock down.
