First off, I'll freely admit I love Skarre and Satyxis in all their incarnations. They are the reason I got into Cryx at all, and SotC and Slaughter Fleet are bringing me back in faction in a big way.
In MKIII, 'jacks are back, and even Irregulars warcasters need to have at least one. Skarres 1+2 have Backlash, and With Raiders, Slingers, the Captain, and Barathrum, we have tons of ways to pour on hits and kill any warcaster. Even with spell denial tricks like the Choir, there is still native Feedback and volume saturation. Skarre1 has ways to make sure you crack ARM with the Raiders and Barathrum, the Hag and Gorman can help, and both have hit adjustment tools. Dispel is available too from the Priestess and Hag, if needed.
Short version is, if you can get to a 'jack (and the girls are very good at getting to targets), you can kill the 'caster, and it's hard to play without a heavy to threaten or initiate piece trading.
Anyone else on this wavelength?

Sure hope no ones playing haley3 and grave diggers, vlad and winterguards, or most any ret list.
Skarre and satyxis really does slamdunk on certain jack heavy lists while also having a good game into troops. But it's not a sure winner into many of the standard warmachine lists we see now adays.
If someone can answer your high def troops and can hold there jacks back (ranged jacks) it's just a regular game of warmachine. Don't worry about finding silver bullets. There not so many of those left now.

There not so many of those left now. Didn't mean to offer it as a silver bullet, but depending on how you load it out, strong game is there. Raiders can be protected from AoEs if you keep the Witch safe before delivery. Ret I don't see much, but their shields aren't that deep (6-8 boxes), and the Vyre 'jacks don't have them at all. You can build a Slaughter Fleet version (with Guidance) and have a totally different loadout, and use Backlash instead. Point is, I think there's a way to skin the cat and deliver a Backlash/Feedback win into most Warmachine opponents. Of course, there will be opponents with a hard NO, but then you might be talking about having someone tech specifically against the threat, which is always complimentary. This is all Theorymachine, so I guess the obvious is I'll buy some more toys and try it out. I still am curious if anyone's got field experience on it already.

I have had trouble against Sorcha 1 and similar casters with a feat that can incapacitate a troop heavy opponent with no real hope of shaking off for most of your list. And then they can use their own troops to just remove yours trivially after they are all stationary, or knocked down, or whatever. No sleeping on the job helps against the latter, but I have lost games against the stationary trick. But that isn't just against Scourge or Slaughter Fleet Raiders, that's any infantry based list.
While sure, those are powerful lists, there are answers to them out there. So while you do have good game, make sure your other list isn't as weak to those sorts of things.

Well, it looks like I will br mainly dropping my Satyxis army into a Hordes army, since the Legion player seems like he will be my most regular opponent. I am interested to see how it goes for Skarre 1&2, since Hordes definitely neuters the whole point of having Feedback. Really pumped to try out the new Solos since I got them in yesterday.

Holy cow, been out of the loop for a while with Privateer Press' model quality... Just opened up my Satyxis Gunslingers, Axiara and Severa... They are amazing! Hoping to get them assembled tomorrow, because they are too pretty to leave in pieces.
So happy I came back to Cryx with Skarre!

Well against legion, sure you cant do feedback, but you do have a lot of innate accuracy with the satyxis and the legion models are not known for their high armor or lots of boxes so even the satyxis base hitting power should be doing something. You will over comes the naturally high defense pretty easily and ravagore's wont be too bad of a problem since half of your group is immune to blast damage.

Feedback and Backlash are great, but the latter isn't in the Skarre3 toolbox. Fortunately, she's amazing in a couple themes (I particularly like SFR).
I might have emphasized the former abilities too much, but the Skarres bring between the three so many tools. I need to order a Skarre3 and some more living pirates, but a SotC/SFR pairing with Skarre1/Skarre3 will probably be my pairing for a dive back into Cryx.

They sound like a really solid pairing to me. I know I am really looking forward to putting Skarre 3 on the table and I have to say, seeing the model kit in person, its very impressive..Impressively large. Holy crap, that ship deck is big and heavy.
