I'm sure you'll make it look awesome either way, really. And whatever floats your boat. Your model, your choice.

You could paint one with pink hair and red robes and you can paint the other with blonde hair and purple robes and then give them little leaf ninja headbands. And boom. Ultimate anime reference.

OK, I could have sworn I had already posted these photos, but I don't see them. Bizarre. Did I dream it? Anyway, here's the Wolverine I finished replacing the claws on. As you can see I screwed up the pins by making them spread apart too early, so I ended up having to sculpt the hands to be too big (Wolverine has Hulk hands!). Plus I think I overdid the thumbs, but I'm not exactly sure. I suppose I could rip the claws out and try again, but it took long enough to do it the first time and there's a pretty decent chance I'd destroy the arms if I try, so for now I'm just going to leave him be. Maybe I'll come back someday, but for now my superhero stuff is on the backburner.

I've always liked Kraye's model and wanted to play him someday. I eventually bought and assembled the model, we'll see about the "playing" part. I didn't like his rock, but unfortunately the model's pose limits basing options somewhat. After soliciting suggestions (I believe on the old PP forum) I decided to have him about to ford a river; the base will need to be filled with water effects once the painting is done. I also replaced his coal burner with a backpack, which I feel fits the model far better. I will take a moment to say that I was sorely tempted to straight-up copy lacerto 's version of Kraye: KrayeByLacerto.jpeg (60.77 KB)I didn't think I could make it look as good though so I settled for the river idea instead. I did eventually steal his streetlamp idea for objectives for the Batman game though:

I did eventually steal his streetlamp idea for objectives for the Batman game though Baatman doesn't need these tragic reminders... Love the idea, though. A lot.

Wow, I'm away from the forums for a bit and all sorts of new stuff get posted!
As always, I'm in awe of your LED and greenstuff skills. I'm still learning how to make my greenstuff as smooth looking as yours.

As always, I'm in awe of your LED and greenstuff skills. I'm still learning how to make my greenstuff as smooth looking as yours. Thanks! I actually sand down a lot of my greenstuff to smooth it. Greenstuff is not too bad to sand, you just have to wait a good day for it to fully cure first. You want a fairly fine grit sandpaper; I think I generally use around 400-800. The finer the grit the more sandpaper you go through though, and of course it takes longer. Since you're going to prime and paint anyway, a bit of a rough surface is generally OK, so I don't think it's a problem to use relatively coarse paper, you just need to be careful not to take off too much material by accident.
Or course always sand in a well ventilated area etc.

Where did you get the bases for your objective markers? I'm wanting to base my resistance with some ruined cobblestone / brick street bases, but I don't want to build them all myself.

I actually sculpted those bases myself. You might want to look at Greenstuffworld's texture rolling pins or Basius stamp pads. I haven't tried Basius' pads, but I've used the texture rolling pins before. Here's an example: I find they work better on flat-top bases, not PP's recessed bases. I have made it work in PP recessed bases in the past by printing the texture on a thin sheet of plasticard then cutting out appropriately sized circles of texture using a compass cutter. I also find that the printed texture shows machining marks and benefits from sanding afterwards. Overall a bit more work than you might like, but the benefit is that the rolling pins are cheap and very small and easy to store. Basius pads might prove to be easier to use, if you're OK with the higher cost and larger size.

MOW Kovnik repose. Because if any model needs it, it's him. I think the arm is from a different MOW model; I had to modify the right hand because the original model holds his axe at a funny angle. I also modified the axe to taste. The Kovnik was one of the first Warmachine models I bought after starting to play, and here's another: my mechanic officer. I wanted to use his arms for a different project (which I never actually got around to...) so I gave him a set of regular MOW arms, swapped the wrench over to his hand because it looked cooler and more functional, then put together a welding torch for his other hand from a Space Marine melta bomb, a paperclip, some metal tubing, and plasticard. Neither model has been painted, partly because I almost never actually play with them. Pretty big disappointments on the table these two.

Greenstuff is not too bad to sand, you just have to wait a good day for it to fully cure first. I get too impatient to make things look pretty at the "addition" stage of sculpting. Mostly I do it at the "removal" stage using a sharp hobby knife to scrape things smooth after the putty's cured. Using a mix of green stuff and milliput (or aves epoxy sculpt) makes that part a lot easier/more pleasant.

I feel like Thor got nerfed in MkIII; back in MkII I was happy to bring him with two Blasters, as they could get real far up and put out some powerful sprays. Anyway, I gave him a beard 'cos he's a dwarf.

Love what you did with your Thor, I also use him a lot less now than I did in mk2. Maybe irregulars in a list that takes advantage of the flank bonus. I always liked taking Thor and Wrongeye just for the fun of having three different jack types and warbeasts in a single list. Maybe I should do it again just for the funsies.

Thumbs up for the blow torch on the mechanik officer. Too bad you never got around to painting him. Very unique and well executed!
Also, that's one serious beard on Thor. I gave him a full beard as well but that is one no-holds-barred man-beard!
