Going to my first tournament in a long time later this month. The event is 35points, 1 list, themes allowed, with one central obj zone.
Ideally, I'd like to play Mercs, though I do have a few random Cryx models. Heres my merc options:
Warcasters: Bart Magnus 1 Ossrum Gorten Ashlynn
Jacks: Renegade Mule Talon 3 Nomads (need conversion) Driller 4 Gunners 2 Blasters
Units: Max Sea Dogs +3 WA 2 Sea Dog Deck Gun Thorn Gun Mages Arcane Tempest Gun Mages + UA Max Trencher Infantry + UA Max Stormlances 2 Max Forgeguard Horgenhold Artilery Corps Tactical Arcanist Corps Herne and Jonne
Solos: Reinholdt Hawk MacNaile Doc Meg Rhupert Eirys1 Gibbs Ragman Gorman Anastasia
Writing from memory, so I think that's it.
So, any ideas on a 35pt all comer list? I doubt there will be any victories on scenario as there's only 1 point and it's in the middle and will NEED to be contested so I'm not too worried about building toward that.

By 35, did you mean 50, the 35 points of mark 3? Or are you actually talking about 35 points?

Mk3 35 points. Im sorry? I didn't think there would really be multiple ways to interpret it.
So... Battlegroup points + 35 + Free models.

kk cool, I've just never heard of 35 point tournaments before :/, and you don't really get a lot at that point value.
I guess I'd go;
Ossrum +28 -Gun Bunny 6 -Gun Bunny 6 -Gun Bunny 6 -Gun Bunny / Blaster Bunny 6 -Blaster Bunny 6 Forge Guard (max) 16 Forge Guard (max) 16 Artillery Corps (free)
Good accurate range, decent speed for a dwarf army, HAC get repo 3 from theme and are free, Bunnies (cause Ossrum), Forge Guard to take care of armor cracking. Only thing is no real source of magic weapons :/ but other than that I'd think you get a decent coverage. It'd be worth a shot at least, and you can probably finagle from there to see what works, these were just my first thoughts.

Yeah, I know it's not really standard, but I guess our TO wanted to be inclusive for those without 2 75pt pairings.
That Rhulic list is pretty close to what I was toying with. Only I dropped a gun bunny and lowered a forgeguard to min to squeeze in a Driller. No magic will make playing into Incorp very difficult, though, like you said.

Trencher Infantry - Leader & 5 Grunts: 10 - Trencher Infantry Officer & Sniper - Officer & Sniper: 0 Thorn Gun Mages - Leader & 2 Grunts: 9
Though I think it would have some problems playing into non-jack ARM skew.

Well you could drop one unit of forge guard and a bunny and go; Ossrum +28 -Gun bunny 6 -Gun bunny 6 -Gun Bunny / Blaster Bunny 6 -Blaster Bunny 6 -Driller 10 Forge Guard (max) 16 TAC 7 Herne and Jonne 5 Artillery Corps (free) Comes out to the same but now you got TAC for some magic in case you need it? As for the Ashlyn list it's not a bad route either! I'm personally not a fan of the three nomad combo with her, but personal preference isn't really a reason to suggest to someone not to play it. You might notice anyone with anti-cloud wall tech might hurt a lot too with that list but either list has problems I guess part of the game, can't have everything you want / need

In a 35 point list, you're only going to encounter so much armor. Nomads can take care of that for you (especially with the Talon into Warmachine factions). Thorn gun mages can also push that armor out of zones and allow you to score easily. The trenchers beat any infantry they are paired against, allow easy delivery of your entire force, and get multiple attacks with Assault. They also let you spread out and contest lots of things, if needed. Gibbs makes the trenchers work even better and turns Ashlynn into a dervish of death.
