In case you missed it, there was a talk on Twitch (Twitch.tv/PrivateerPress) about this being the 15th year anniversary of Warmachine and they are releasing journeyman warcasters of some of the originals. For Cryx we are getting Deneghra0 (yes, that is a zero). Since some of you aren't participating in the CID process, I'll attempt to copy and paste him here:
Warwitch Initiate Deneghra – 15th Anniversary Journeyman 10 FONT
Warcaster Cryx Solo
DENEGHRA 0
SPD STR MAT RAT DEF ARM CMD FOC
7 5 5 4 15 14 6 4
FA: C
Point Cost: 4
Base Size: Small Base
Damage: 5
DENEGHRA 0
Parry
Stealth
Battlegroup Controller - This model is not a warcaster but has the following warcaster special rules: Battlegroup Commander, Focus Manipulation, Power Field, and Spellcaster. This model must have at least one warjack in its battlegroup at the start of the game.
Soul Taker: Cull Soul - This model can gain soul tokens. When a living enemy model is destroyed within 2˝ of this model, this model gains the destroyed model’s soul token. After this model replenishes its focus during your next Control Phase, replace each soul token with 1 focus point.
WEAPONS [DENEGHRA 0]
Shadow Blade [2x] (None) sword icon RNG: 0.5 POW: 4 P+S: 9
Damage Type: Magical
Shadow Bind - A model hit by this weapon suffers Shadow Bind for one round. (A model suffering Shadow Bind suffers –3 DEF, and for one round when it advances it cannot move except to change facing. Shadow Bind can be shaken.)
SPELLS Cost RNG AOE POW DUR OFF
Dark Seduction 3 8 – – – Yes
Take control of target enemy non-warcaster, non-warlock warrior model. You can immediately make a full advance with that enemy model followed by a basic attack, then Dark Seduction expires. The enemy model cannot be targeted by free strikes during this movement. Dark Seduction can be cast only once per activation. A model can be affected by Dark Seduction only once per turn.
Parasite 3 8 – – UP Yes
Target model/unit suffers –3 ARM and the spellcaster gains +1 ARM.
The other casters getting this treatment are Caine, Severius and Sorscha.

Parasite on a stick might be really handly for some our casters. Any idea what themes she can be taken in?

She still pairs well with Nightmare also. Nice little kill team.

She still pairs well with Nightmare also. Nice little kill team. Only if Nightmare is called out specifically as an option in that theme. Bonds allow fully fledged Warcasters to include the jack in any theme, journeymen don't have this luxury.

I think she might work well with Gaspy 3 slayer spam, to make it a real armour cracking list. But she also seems really valuable for Scaverous, in particular, because he needs a bit more punch and he can help her land the spell with TK.
Also seems great for Skarre 3, Goreshade 3, and Coven--strong casters who can swing armour by 2 but who can really use the extra power.

I can see pairing her with Goreshade1 to stack Dark Shroud and Parasite.

I can see pairing her with Goreshade1 to stack Dark Shroud and Parasite. The biggest concern from me (and I am not even a cryx player) is Focus 4 and parasite are kind of bleh. She needs to spend her whole stack to cast it and then she may be in a vulnrable position. Also, boosted 4's still only hit def 13-14 1/2 the time

I forgot the drawback of it being an offensive spell. Even if you gave her a node to arc through it's still not the best situation.

How about using her in a Scaverous list? He can TK things around to give her an effective +2 to hit, also Feast of Worms and Parasite can affect the same target, as Feast is not upkept on a model. you could also take an Iron Lich Overseer to stack Dark Shroud as well for a cheeky -7 ARM.

Yeah, my first thoughts were as a journeyman, her spell list is way too expensive for Focus 4, as all her spells are offensive and she will have to boost to hit even warjacks short of the Conquest.
Aiakos seems a lot better to me as his spells are cheaper and more buffing, and he can enable assassinations a lot easier.
For Deneghra, you are putting a squishy support piece within 8" of your target to do her job and that is still unreliable with a base 4 + 3D6 roll to hit, and her main defensive mechanism of stealth will now be invalidated as you are so close, most things can just charge or walk in and shoot. DEF 15 can help, but not against anything that can boost and most people have plenty of experience now dealing with journeyman warcasters.
As far as a focus battery goes, She can do that quite well and stay safe, staying 8" behind her warjack(s) of choice.
She can benefit from soul catchers but not from the misery cages to get extra focus to help her do her job.
If she is free in theme on a caster that doesn't care about battle group, I can see it, but I am probably reaching for aiakos first for a speed buff and leaping.

She can take an arc-node, which will be free in Black Industries, yes you will have to pay 4 points for her, but you can still stay above the 90 point threshold for 3 free arc nodes.

Sure she can take an arc node at a large opportunity cost, I guess I would say she will fill one of two roles pretty exclusively. You have to take the arc node if you want to be the parasite on a stick. She will be too vulnerable and die to almost anything if you dont. Or you can just be stealthy focus battery to a leviathan or something.
As far as themes she is allowed in, its just infernal machines and black industries, correct? For black industries, yeah, she can get the free arc node, but that list typically doesn't have a lot of trouble breaking armor, but every little bit helps.
Infernal machines, again, doesn't have much trouble breaking armor, but appreciates it a bit more than Black Industries, as the thralls would rather have some sort DEF debuff to help them hit. But again, ARM debuff can help, and you have to pay for your arc node here.
Overall, an entirely offensive journeyman just seems like a bad idea and I think the opportunity cost to be the parasite on a stick will be very expensive.
